Introduction

Sorry for the loss of your friend.

Welcome from Vermont! That will all rub right out! Nice cars and we are here for your questions, there are MOPAR guys from around the world here. Good luck on your Mopar journey!

Welcome from Missouri!! Some of us will either sell or gift our cars one day. He looks like he had you figured out, don't let him down!!

Thanks for all of the comments and support.
His wife is still looking through all of his paperwork trying to locate any documentation on the car. I do know he never registered the car and never got it titled because it was strictly a race car.
I do know he also told me that someone broke into his barn and stole the carburetors and intake off the car during storage.
A few things I have not been able to locate are
#1 Hood scope
#2 18 spline driveshaft
#3 fan shroud
#4 flex plate
#5 matching set of carter carbs
#6 Intake (I do have the original breather)
I have most of all the other original parts and then some.
He had a stack of radiators I think I have traced down the original to the car.
He had 3 different 727 Transmissions Not positive which one is correct but I think I might be close. The # on the side just above the pan on the one I think is correct is H2538389 2743803
One thing I came across was a set of 413 Cross Ram aluminum intakes.
Pretty cool find!

Last 3 digits on radiator 948. Trans 389 sounds right. 66 intake manifolds didn't have a pentastar on front of manifold, if you care. Fan shroud is a one year only. The metal plate isn't on later shrouds and part number is on the inside.

Welcome from Minnesota. Very cool. Lots of work to do, but that's what it takes. If it was a race only car, may have numerous non OEM parts on it. So you need to decide early on what you want it to be in the future. OEM restoration is difficult and VERY expensive. Keeping it a race car, less costly. Enjoy & good luck.

The plan as of right now is to keep it to use any and every part possible that the car has on it or came with. I will rebuild or reuse any part that came be used or rebuilt. I want to keep as much of the originality to the car as possible. I know all of the rubber hoses and belts will have to be replaced. From what I can tell the paint looks to be in decent condition and I will not be repainting the car. I want to keep all of the original racing insignia on the car. The interior is in pretty good shape and I hope to only have to replace the headliner and carpet and door panels. When he stored the car he removed all of the rubber plugs from the floorpans and the carpet was removed for racing. but the headliner is falling apart. The seats don't have any holes at all in them and are in excellent condition. The dash looks to be in good condition as well.
I hope to have the car running and driving again so I can take his wife and daughters to the drag strip and she can see the car go down the track one last time.
