70 440 electronic ignition, long tube headers. I bought MSD Street Fire wires many moons ago and am just now installing. They have straight boots on the plug side, and 6-90 degree 2-straight boots in the distributor side. Straight boots are only long enough to reach 2 or 4, maybe 1. Also, the set is intended as direct fit to a 440 but is super long which I now confirmed through reviews to be typical for this set. Before I go through the effort and cost of buying terminals and cutting these up ....

The question: Is there a direct fit wire set, somewhat stock appearing (black), that you would recommend with headers?

Thanks

With headers you will most likely never find a perfect set of wires. When I use the MSD I always prefer to custom fit them. I bought the expensive pliers style tool with multiple jaws. Best investment I ever made as far as plug wires go. I also would buy extra terminals and boots. Expensive some what but happy when done.

The short answer is, no.
"Direct fit" and off-the-shelf pre-made sets are for stock engines, and even then they don't always fit very well.
If you are so inclined the best thing you can do is buy yourself a decent crimp tool--and make your own. You'll never struggle with ill-fitting wires again.
Or, call Firecore and shell out the $150+ for them to make you a set according to your measurements.

Something like this--

There would be no reason to have both 90° and straight boots on the distributor end.
The custom set you have is likely for a stock manifold application where the two straight boots are needed in a specific location. And im betting the real long wires are intended to go over the intake, and around the back of the head, while the rest are routed underneath.

They have straight boots on the plug side.........

Lol, I feel your pain. On my abody 7 runs into the steering shaft 4 & 6 run into the control arm bracket/inner fender. Waiting on 90° ends from the supplier, like I ordered in the first place...........

#7 not even close to being on. It would clear otherwise. On my wedge all boots come to within quarter inch of metal body of plug. You want PIA? Put together hemi wires, plug ends.

Supplier sent me 90° plug boots.

Lol, Liken' 'em more better! :)

#4 & #8 visible..........

What is the part number for these. I’ve been looking for a set like this and if you can give me that part number I can order them.
