Hi
I am the proud owner of a medium turquoise metallic and patina 66 Charger 383 727 2.94. I have been restoring this car for the past 20 years. Interior is almost done, except for the new mouse hole in the middle of the back seat upholstery. Working on the engine right now - head professionally rebuilt, edelbrock intake and 650 cfm carburetor and electronic ignition.
It has been such a wonderful dream except for the past two months trying to figure out the issue with my electronic ignition. I installed an electronic ignition Mopar part # P3690427 some years back and it's not working. I have good spark at the coil. I get one spark with the test plug on cyl 8 while cranking, only one spark. I am hoping someone might lead me in the right direction. Thanks

Hello and Welcome from Connecticut! Glad to have you here. If you would like please check out my photo garage as there is also a '66 Charger with a 383 in there. Regarding your problem, A LOT more people would know than me. In my opinion I think maybe it could be the ignition box is no good, I hear they sometimes were defective when new. Maybe try changing it to a World Famous Rick Eranburg one. Sorry I dont know how to spell his last name but he is a writer for Mopar Action magazine. MAYBE change the distributor as well.

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

maybe post the question in the
Electrical & Ignition forum section here
this is just the welcome wagon
it's really not intended as a Q&A or
tech forum section, not as many viewers here either

make sure the ground on the control box is good
where the box is mounted, bolt going into bare metal
put a lil' dielectric grease on it too

could be just a bad control box too

good luck

Sorry .I will look at E&I .thanks

You have a spare "brain", right?

Should always have a spare in the trunk.

Make sure the installed brain is grounded real good.

Poor ground is a pretty common problem.
