Hello and thank you to all who have unknowingly offered up solutions to the problems I have encountered so far over the past couple months. As a novice Mopar owner, I would have most likely hacked up what is a very solid restoration build that I purchased a couple months ago in its early stages of reassembly. After trailering home a truckload of boxes, a block, transmission and a beautifully painted 72 Charger shell I soon realized I needed help. This car was not originally a bb car, didn’t come from the factory with the 4 speed manual gearbox that was included in the sale, the airgrabber hood was an absolute mystery and the hideaway headlights didn’t have the proper harness in the car to make them operate.....not to mention all the other hundreds of pieces that need to be cleaned, painted, repaired, etc.
I’ve always been drawn to the 68-70 cars (like most everybody else) and knew I’d never be able to afford buying a project car and the cost of all the rare parts so my wife and I started looking at the 71-74s and came across what was soon to be my bright yellow 72.
It is currently being prepped to receive a rebuilt 440 (out of a 71 charger) and a 4 speed (76 truck box). The previous owner converted the car to a pistol grip bench seat car with a tach and the airgrabber hood apparently looking to build the car into the Rallye package offered in or around that year.
As I take over the build I look forward to reaching out to the members for thier expertise as I work my way through the boxes and boxes of loose parts and missing pieces as well as sharing my solutions when I manage to stumble across answers to problems.
I think I am most excited about learning all about the Mopar hobby and visiting events such as Chrysler’s at Carlisle and seeing all the brightly colored cars and meeting thier owners. It was time for a new challenge and I definitely found one.

Welcome aboard from NJ. Sounds like it will be nice when finished! However, as mentioned............

Welcome aboard from the Pacific Northwest.......
3rd gen Chargers are really an interesting car to play with and have their own unique challenges as do all the B bodies.

You will find tons of experienced people here who want to help show you how to manage your build. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new project because this site lives for the pictures.

Welcome to the site!! And yep.....PICS!! :D

Wow, thank you all for the warm welcome!!!

I have been enjoying prepping and painting my newly rebuilt 440 and took a minute to grab a bite and search for some missing pieces when I realized I never circled back to check in with FBBO!....my bad

I’ll attach a couple pics of when I purchased the car and I’ll folllow up later with current pics.

as mentioned, it is the car that was posted a couple months back on C List
and yes has a clean and clear title. The seller was reluctant to sell but has a 68 (or 9) he wanted to focus on finishing. I imagine he may be a member on this site but I haven’t had a chance to look around for him yet.

Cant wait to poke around and see what you’ve all done to your cars and sharing what I’m doing with mine.....

Thanks again for the warm welcome!
