Is there a good source for Carter AFB restoration/replacement parts, such as screws, various rod links, secondary piston covers, choke pieces, etc? Stuff you won’t find in a rebuild kit.

Mikes Carburetors seems to have some stuff listed - just wondered if there was a place that really focused on this type of hardware.

Jon Hardgrove at the Carb Shop in Eldon, MO has all you need for Carters.

I believe when Carter ceased production, Jon got many or all of the tools and spares and drawings and other kits and carburetors. He also got a lot of the "Race" Thermoquads (can't recall what they called them).

I’ll check him out.

EXCELLENT SUPPLIER AND SOURCE for origional CARTER AVS, AFB parts, tools, literature. Sometimes difficult to make contact with but go to the web site, follow his instructions....not inexpensive, but he generally has what you want/need. Just outside of St. Louis Mo, operates out of his home......try him. But be specific as to your vehicle and Carter model of carb and if you had part numbers even better. Just my opinion of course.

That was my first stop. Bought rebuild kits in the past from him and he does list some rod links, etc. Haven’t come across anyone selling replacement main body screws - a complete set - to replace some that have been buggered up a little. But yes, I’ll probably get my kit from him and see what else he has to spruce the appearance up on the hardware.

One thing about those screws I understand that finding them with captured lock washers is tough?

https://www.ebay.com/usr/graygracy?_trksid=p2047675.l2559. He sells on eBay, reasonable prices fast delivery. The link is copied from eBay. Maybe try: www.ebay.com/usr/graygracy?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
The screw set is ~ $12.00 + shipping.
