My B body (one of them), and my G body
Both are very nice, good for you!! The 500 speaks for itself, but those Daytona were a must have when they came out. 84 to 93, I saw hundreds of them in the parking lot at work. Many years and houses ago, I had a neighbor who was big time ford mustang guy. I told him go check them out, he came home with one, 84 or 85, can't remember now. He drove that thing like he stole it!! The head finally took a dump on him, like most did, repaired it and went on. It was a fun car to drive. Thanks for sharing, haven't seen one or thought about them in awhile.

I love my Daytona (mine's a '91). Order code AGS, factory Competition Package - 2.5 hi torque turbo I engine (non-intercooled), 152hp/210 lb-ft at stock boost. 5 speed close ratio Getrag manual. 4 wheel vented disc brakes, 16" directional wheels, factory fat swaybars front and rear, quick ratio steering rack, performance shocks and struts, and no weight-adders outside - only a turbo bulge hood, and a rear wing. Production was 150 units in '91; mine's 1 of 26 in these colors (white/maroon interior). Power windows/locks, cassette deck (in the garage, the car has a bluetooth Alpine in it at the moment), a/c, rear defrost, power mirrors...and that's it. Bought it brand new in '91. I lowered it in the mid-90s with Mopar springs; upped the boost from 7psi to 16psi; and installed a 2.5" mandrel exhaust from the turbo back, no muffler (the turbo 'cuisinart's the exhaust noise quite nicely).
I do like hunting Mustangs with it - back in the day it was a real Fox body killer! Back then I had a bigger Garrett turbo on it, even MORE boost (30 psi on 93 octane), and a factory intercooler from a Shelby Z. Now...she's a bone-stock (smaller, original Mitsu turbo, no intercooler) zippy cruiser, still on the factory clutch!

The red one is a buddy's that I'm storing (I have a garage, he has a condo). Another one-owner car (well, one family - his dad bought it new), '85 Turbo Z automatic, bone-stock...sixteen thousand original miles. They'll probably never see the resurgence that our old B-bodies have...but I still like 'em.
