Charging electric cars

The Last Chase is a 1981 Canadian-American dystopian science fiction film. It's a futuristic scenario about a former racing driver who reassembles his old Porsche and drives to California in a world where cars and motor vehicles of all kinds have been outlawed by the government. Replace the Porsche with a '68 Charger, or any MOPAR for that matter, and you've got most of the people here on FBBO.

Demolition man with Stallone is a good one too. All electric world, he finds a ‘70 442.

Reminds me of a friend’s Pontiac Fiero, not much left of the 2 car garage either.

LOL, cars are outlawed, but they use a "Dino-Sucking" jet to chase Lee down...

Problem solved

Dept of High Safety has studied the concern. And as predicted electric cars posed no greater threat than gas powered cars in regards to vehicle fires in a home garage. In fact, a little less. In both cases. The vast majority of fires are a result of damage. So once again? The user is the primary threat. Both gas and electric. Besides. The next generation Li-Ion (WiBS) that is all but uncombustible is arriving on the market. Rendering this issue moot in the near future.

I hadn't heard of WiBS so I looked it up. Thanks. Found out it's been talked about for a couple of years already... https://scitechdaily.com/breakthrou...ry-wont-catch-fire-unbreakable-incombustible/

It’s all just fine, they have our best interests in mind, they know what’s best for us. We are stupid.

Clearly, there is somebody sitting in the box truck. How does someone sit there three feet away from a car on fire, and decide to wait.... wait..... until his truck is on fire too.... then move it not QUITE far enough to prevent the third car from catching fire?

Big plot holes in that movie.
Dystopian future but there is a pristine classic car in the sewer. No known owner. It runs on 40 year old gas too ?
What about all the rest of the cities in the world? They tout the savior of the city, that dork in the white robe but what about the other 49 states?
Taco Bell is the only restaurants left? Sounds like hell more than it does anything...

I much prefer "Red Barchetta" by Rush myself...

And people are charging them in their attached garages!
Have never owned or rented a house with an attached garage and for good reasons!!

Years ago I read a short story about a guy getting out in his classic Corvette C2 and then getting chased by the anti gas guzzler police. I felt sorry for the guy and the story came out in the mid 70's lol

Well, it's not like a gas car ever had problems while refueling...

An aunt lost a nice 64 Galaxie 500 because it lit off out in the parking lot where she worked. Turns out the carb was leaking and found an ignition source.

Probably sleeping while his was charging and was only able to pull out to that point? Engine died or.....?
