I care about the environment therefore i burn as much fossil fuel as possible. co2 is what plants crave and they thank me for providing it. Earth is co2 depleted. Green people are the true eco terrorists with all their bird killing wind turbines, river killing dams, disgusting eyesore solar farms, dirty electric cars, and on and on. People who believe in anthropogenic global warming and the green agenda are the same people who think the govt is there to help them. I pity the fools.
 
I watched my sister's C5 vette burn to the ground. That fiberglass with enough heat really shoots the flames. Her and her boyfriend put in some 90s aftermarket supercharger. On its maiden voyage it had an impeller separation that severed EFI fuel lines. Barly had enough time to pull over and bail. I guess it wasn't that uncommon with that generation aftermarket stuff. Nothing like today.

My next daily driver will be electric. (Though I'm not in need of an upgrade for 2-3 years.) The folks I've talked to love them. Many saying they won't go back to gas cars. In my opinion. Anyone that dismisses any new technologies without at least trying? Judge for themselves? Is not worthy of debate. I'm looking forward to experience the performance and reduced maintenance requirements.
 
People i've talked to say they'll never own another electric vehicle after having one. Too much of an annoyance sitting around waiting for it to charge and unreliable (lots of breakdowns). I guess they'd probably be fine for metrosexuals to run down to starbux and grab a soy latte but for real men who use their vehicles for work it's a no go. They also have a habit of crashing into the backs of fire trucks, running under semi trailers, driving head on into center dividers, spontaneously bursting into flames, and generally trying to kill their occupants. Who needs all that?

I like trees too! Burn 2-3 every winter. Heats the house and keeps the forests clean and healthy. Also creates co2 that trees and plants thrive on. Win win win!

Until you get your can blown off the road by a little ol lady's grocery getter? Won't that be a proud moment for ya? Lol. Maybe that tree will give you some comfort?

There are going to be nay sayers. Henry Ford went thru his fair share. But when autos were easily out performing horses? The change came quick. Losers put their junk back on the trailer. It's why I love drag racing. No time for excuses. No "We'll get them next lap." It's perform or go home. And electric cars are now out performing. And this is in it's infancy. 5-10 years from now? The nay sayers will look even more ridiculous.

This just my opinion. But that position is growing fast.
 
I'm working on a new prototype vehicle with a hypersonic missile engine. Guaranteed it will literally blow the doors off of any electric vehicle. Does anyone care that it will outperform any gas or electrice vehicle? NO!

You dudes that like cars that make no sound are a disappointment to Alpha Males.
Any vehicle, whether a car, truck or motorcycle should rumble a bit, vibrate a bit and give you some visceral experience.
Otherwise, you're driving an appliance.

Alpha Males? Oh no. Not you too Kern? That's just noise talk. You know you can appreciate both? No rule saying to can't?

This is like the same discussions I had with Hotrod crowd? They scream that Muscle car are just factory junk. They too have no flexibility. They are right. And I'm wrong. 100%
 
I am not a fan of EV cars however, the torque on them is amazing and in many cases will put to shame most if not all internal combustion vehicles. Granted, the rumble of a muscle car (or Harley) is visceral and exciting but... that torque cannot be ignored. I agree that the sound issue needs to be addressed and I am pretty sure someone will do exactly that at some point.

I agree there certainly is a lack of "Cool" factor. But future is calling. Denying never works. Didn't work over 100 years ago with the first automobiles. Didn't work with this latest pandemic. And will not work here. They're just better technology.
 
See all the masks blowing down the street with the other garbage. Like a fart in the wind. They didn’t work, don’t work and never will work. They are merit badges for the libs just like a Prius. I hope they wear them for the rest of their lives.
Henry Ford didn’t need government subsidies or special lanes for his cars. I don’t think Henry or John or Horace are good comparisons. They were visionaries.

I see what you did there... LOL but I agree that denying something doesn't make it go away, however things are a lot more complicated than agreeing with or denying something. I am not touching the "pandemic" crap as I am sure we are not going to agree on that.

Questioning something and/or not buying into it wholesale is not denying as evidenced over the last 100 years plus of the internal combustion engine. There was a time when it was said that a car would never go over 200 mph, because someone questioned that and worked towards disproving the concept it was far surpassed.

EV cars are not the "be all end all" when it comes to transportation, there will be many contenders to be sure because at the end of the day it is about making money just as it is in every industry on the planet. All this said I personally believe that internal combustion will be with us for a very long time to come despite what all of the sandal wearing, pony tail having, tree huggers would like.
