Ive replaced the 440 heads w trick flow 240's and roller rockers and I cant seem to locate valve covers that fit,the stock ones are too short, Mr gasket fabricated ones sat down all the way but the tubes for the bolts are at the wrong angle, you can see the holes but the bolts wont line up and the ones I just picked up from Summit (4th try) measured out correctly but will not press down and seat, the right side is up 1/4" too far, has anyone been through this or have some good info? Trick Flow valve covers I hear (by them) will fit but aren't available till September...any thoughts?

Similar trouble with the summit covers on my iron heads, the baffles under the grommet hit the shaft holddown bolt. (At least that was why they didnt work on mine.) Im just gonna shave down the thickness of the bolt head. If that doesnt work, im gonna redo the baffle.
Edit: you might try the 440 source fab covers, i think they might work with the angles on aftermarket heads. (You do know the iron heads have different angles from 90° to the valve cover rails, right?).

I’m pretty sure they make spacers for valve covers to raise them up.

They do... but unlike the cast cheap ones for chevy and ford, the ones i found are billet.... and about 150% of what i paid for the covers. I will look for other answers.

I'm running these from Mancini on my Trick Flow 240's with no problems. They have baffles built in the 2 stock holes. I added a fill port on one side.

if you can used a stamped steel i've found the cheapo summits to fit my edelbrock heads well. i couldn't get any factory covers to work. the summits are a little taller and seem to have plenty of rocker room inside. i intended to only use these covers for a short time until i could find something better. anyhow, 17yrs later they're still on the engine. just can't find much wrong for the money spent.

I believe Indy valve covers with no logo might be a option. I'm going to give these a try with my TF 270 heads and Harland sharps rockers, I also have the thick rubber gaskets

I used M/Ts on some 240s, had to clean up the ends ever so slightly - worked great. Used the fat black performance felpros

Those are the VC I have on my Trick Flo 240 heads w/no problems and roller rockers and .600 lift cam. ruffcut

I have seen the no-logo indy covers. In my humble opinion, they are identical to the chinese ones summit offers.....only $100 more.

Who wants Chinese junk on their Mopar?
I have aluminum Indy covers, and they will work on your TF heads.

Yes that was one of my problems with the fabricated ones I was getting from Summit, the thread angle but Petes Garage on YouTube was doing the exact setup im doing and answered me about the valve covers he was using, Mopar Performance PT#P5007614 but said their hard to find and they were but finally located some at Mopar Overstock for 149.00 plus shipping-now hopefully I dont get that Email saying their backordered...

While I haven't seen the Chinese versions of them, could they be identical because thats what the Chinese are good at?

I use a stock set of 1969 440 valve covers on my 505 stroker with trick flow 240 heads and Hughes 1.5 ratio roller rockers. Just had to clearance the baffles in a few areas.

Yep, could be. Could be too, that indy gets them from the same place summit does, then marks them up a hundred bucks. (And puts em in an indy box, I'm sure. Mine came in a plain white logo-free box.)

Indys whole deal is that they cast their own parts in the us? If they were selling made in china stuff Id be surprised, but mainly disappointed.
All their parts boxes (I've seen) have been logo free from memory.

I dont doubt that their intakes, heads, and blocks are cast in the US. These are the cast finish summit covers i bought (i think no longer available unpolished). Frankly, i assumed they were chinese, but there is no marking on the box or the part, as to origin. The packaging hints strongly to me.....but i cant prove anything.
(I do like the parts. Im saving them for my victor head stroker. Current motor has moroso gold, painted turquoise)
