I am planning to replace the gasket between my TQ 6319S carb and the intake. I see that there are two styles available - one open between the bores, and one closed. The gasket in place today is the open style. The open version is twice as thick, so more insulating properties from manifold heat.

Anyone have a reason to chose one vs the other?

No technical reason, I've always used the open style.

With the 'closed' one, I'd watch closely that the butterflies don't get hung up on it. There are two sizes of TQ, what size is the closed one based off of?

Is your manifold single or dual plane? The closed version should allow slightly better low end idle control and throttle response, but only if it matches the holes in the manifold as well.

I have no idea which version of the TQ the closed gasket is based on. I have the TQ with the smaller primaries, so would likely be OK regardless.

My intake manifold is the factory dual plane version.
