Hi Guys;
Did all the 72 RR/GTX rear valences have the exhaust cutouts. I don't have my original and the build sheet shows Plain Jane dual exhaust with no tips. I was wondering if there were two separate pieces depending on options. Thanks.

I do not think they all came with the larger cut outs for the exhaust. Until recently, I thought they were the same until someone pointed out that I didn't have them on my car. I have small recesses on my valence and they looked like cut outs so I thought they were the proper ones. It doesn't look bad with the standard valence but if you are wanting the machine gun tips, I would try and find one with the larger cut outs. In the picture below you will see two valences and they are both the same. One is original to my Roadrunner and the other is from a SSP. They are both the same which is why I thought what I did.

Edit* In hindsight, I should have realized that the cut outs were no where big enough and sourced a proper valence.

Thanks PMan! I want my exhaust system to look like the day I bought it with the stock steel tailpipes that came out at a slight angle. If you ever want to sell that valence - look me up. By the way is your bird a GTX?

Unfortunately I don't have the valance anymore otherwise I would give it to you. No, mine was a standard 340 Roadrunner. I would have loved to have the GTX option but those are far nd few between.

definitely a difference. My 71 road runner is a California car and came with the turn down tips.

Thanks, Jack; that clears it up. I was hoping that was the case. Call me crazy; but I like the look of the uncut valence and the turn down steel tips better. Looks like more of a "sleeper".

If I remember 60's-70's California cars were sold only with turn downs. Some law about Tips being too loud.
