On my 318 Poly, mild stroker, I’ve replaced the 2 brl intake with a cast iron 4 brl intake. Planning to install a 650 Edelbrock carb, and looking at the FSM there seems to be no difference between the 2brl and 4 brl linkage, but with the new carb will I need different linkage. Customer service at Edelbrock doesn’t seem to know. Just planning ahead. Thanks.

It could work out fine,But maybe not. I originally had a 383 but put in a 440,and minimal adjustments to everything.

318s did not come with 4 barrels in these years. But on the B engines, the 4 barrel carbs are wider than the 2 barrel carbs. They require a different bracket for the throttle cable, and the kickdown linkage if the car has an automatic trans. I had that problem when I went from a 2 barrel to a 4 barrel on my 64 Fury with the 361.

thanks for the info.
The manifold came off a ‘57 Plymouth Power Pack with a WCFB. Rebuilt the carb but it sits too high on the manifold and there’s no hood clearance. The Edelbrock will just barely fit. I now have to look for linkage from a ‘50s Poly.
