I was in the Towson Maryland area this morning. Yep the cicadas were there in full force! They're not emerging in the Hanover Pa area just yet.

Nothing significant or noteworthy in coastal Georgia.

We've had them in the Cincinnati area for weeks. It's hard to appreciate just how noisy they are, but you can easily hear them when indoors with the a/c running.

I havent seen them in ohio yet either but im up near the lake....

Off the subject a bit...... you know how sitcoms used to over use "laugh tracks"??? I use to watch quite a few Anime movies with the kids...... No such thing as an anime movie that does not play the Cicadas sound in the background. I assume they are pretty prevalent in Japan??

That one sound in every anime - YouTube

I'd be careful, that sounds like a shitload of rattlers...

No Cicadas (or Locusts) on the west coast "yet" (ever)

I remember when I was racing back east & southeast
hearing/seeing them, strange critter/bug only come out
between 13-17 years apart
noisy fuckers

Nothing in upper Ohio.

Smack dab in between you guys and nothing here either. Plenty of other noises like my frog pond... sure is noisy but I enjoy my critters. Been seeing plenty of snakes.. couple Milk snakes, a Gartner snake, a few Ring Necks and one Black snake.

Nothing to report from NE TN - yet.

We've been getting them in Central Ohio. Had to go towards Columbus today, driving down 71, you can hear them in the trees along the interstate. I've had a couple in the garage. Started to hear them around here yesterday and today.

Ohhh the insect... I misread the title. I thought it was "coladas", like pina colada.

Those do look tasty hey! I'm just on my 3rd cold beer working in my 95 degree garage and on my 2nd t-shirt...our grass looks like a light shade of tan. No cicadas around us; but I'm sure it's friggin hot enough for them.

With that, I'd be on my 4th cold one :drinks:enjoy !

Oh yeah, khryslerkid, I went around the 695 beltway through Towson yesterday and it is a Cicada mess. Hope it's the peak, heavy in Columbia MD, parts of the city. Slowing cruise season.
