Trim on drip rail

70 Road Runner post car. I'm no expert but, does the lower rear corner piece of the drip rail molding have to be installed (screwed in place) BEFORE the side pop-out glass goes in? It's what the body guy told my friend who owns the car now. (I'm trying to find the missing piece for him) Say's he can't install the side glass 'till this is installed. I may be wrong, but this just doesn't sound right. I know someone out there can clear this up for me. Thanks
 
Doesn’t sound right to me. I messed around fitting those pieces on my buddies 69 post Roadrunner and the glass was already in the car. Can’t see how that would hold him up.
 
I thought the same thing. I've been messing with Mopars for over 40 years, so I'm no dummy, so I just couldn't see Chrysler doing it that way. Thanks for you input on this. I will wait to hear some more from other knowledgeable people on this site too.
 
Sorry to bust your bubble, but YES... It has to go in first, then your roof rail, then your window assembly.

I guess I must be missing something - the drip rail SS and rear turndown was some of the last assembly and trim we put on his post Roadrunner and he gave all of that to me put on one morning - which I did. The Windows had been in for months. Maybe some subtle difference on Dodge - the drip rail cap on dadsbee car does look wider and more substantial than the simple gutter lip trim on the Roadrunner, although the turn down looks the same. That may be the difference.

The rearmost trim curl has a plate on the upper portion that goes up under the roof rail trim plate. Not sure how you could stuff it in after the fact, but I guess it's possible it could be stuffed in after the fact pending hammer selection.

Unfortunately I don’t have that many photos of his car but it looks like the Dodge might have a SS plate spanning between the underside of the drip gutter and the window frame that his Roadrunner doesn’t have. His has exposed painted metal between the gutter bottom and the window frame. His plate on the curl didn’t have to slip behind anything - it’s exposed.

Maybe Plymouth was cheap and skipped the roof rail trim in the rear pop outs..
 
If that’s a SS piece spanning from the drip gutter across the body window framing to the weatherstrip channel - that’s kind of what I’m thinking too.
 
Post Bee has roof rail trim front and back, just like a hardtop would for rear roll ups..

I’ll have to look at his car again next time I get a chance to see if I can figure out the difference.
 
Thanks AR67GTX. It seems the Dodge & Plymouth post cars have different attachment methods. I'm pretty sure I looked at my friends R.R. good enough that I thought the drip rail end corners could be installed AFTER the rear side was installed. I probably won't get the pieces 'till the end of next week, but if the side pop-out glass assembly can be installed on Plymouth models, we can install that trim piece after the glass is in. I should probably look at the car once more so I know for sure.
 
Hope so - I’m having a twilight moment resolving my one experience a Plymouth with dadsbee’s obvious knowledge of his Dodge Superbee.
