Vinyl Top Color. Opinions Please

White cooler for sure black gives it that tough look. But it is all up to the owner for sure. If it makes you happy go for it.

White it is the original color. Makes it different and breaks up all the dark.
 
I'd go white top. Althought red phasered stripe will match better than black ( on factory stripes options )

My car even not B5 but B9 got blue interior, white top and red phasered stripe. Nice combo, but I changed to white interior, and still searching the way to correctly reproduce the phasered stripes, ( PG phaseres stripes are not correct ) so untill that comes, will be white stripes ( reflective )
 
Why don't you try that vinyl wrap first that way you don't have to do anything but clean the surface before you put it on and you can decide whether or not you like it and if not it'll peel right off
