Can someone tell me what switches (cam ?)the wiper park switch and its location please, is it in the housing the armature bolts onto , ibehind the ceramic piece? Its on a 72 satellite.

The FSM should have it in section 8

On a 3-speed motor its under the top plate.

Why??

2 and 3 speed wiper motors were made by diff manufacturers, so each one got is own design to get the parking position. 3 speeds built into motor, 2 speeds divorced from it.

Which one you need to know?

Just in case here is a research I made about differences between 2 and 3 speeds. I made it to get all the correct parts I needed to uograde from 2 to 3 speeds on my car

Thre could be some imprecissions, stuff I have learnt later, but still works as a guide.

Wiper motor working fine in low and high but doesnt reverse or park. I have a good earth at th motor and when I plug another motor in and earth it it works and parks. I beadblasted the assembly when i rebuilt the car and thinking it may have some beads in contacts/ switch stopping it from working

Mine has the cam but its a motor/ switch issue.. It doesnt reverse or return at all when switched off, they just stop.
Thanks for your info, I'll have a look

The stop function is part of the switch. The blue wire must be energized to make the motor spin in the oposite direction. This change relocates the parking cam to set the wiper arms into the parking position down the hood. Once the parking position is reached an internal lever into the motor assembly cuts the power to the armature. Check if with wipers OFF you have power on the blue wire.

I have plugged another spare motor assembly in and everything works exactly as it should so I didn't test the wiring. The info about the internal cam is the bit I was hoping for. Going to pull it apart and have a look, see if its not just something simple from bead blasting the motor before painting it. Thanks for everyones input

ok, so maybe the blue wire when turn it off still being energized while in off, was not getting the motor assembly inside to make spin the motor in oposite direction. I think one of the wires changes also to ground to make it spin in the oposite direction along with the blue wire

Finally got around to removing the wiper motor assy. I stripped it down and found assembly grease had worked its way into the switching contacts. Gave them a clean up, put the housing back together and works a treat.
Thanks guys
