The '72 column in the '70 = no go on '70 Steering wheel

Hello All - I've been diligently working on my '70 RR/Satellite. Rewired the whole backend of the car this weekend...it takes about 30 hours for a novice to replace the ignition harness, turn signal harness, dash harness & the rear harness. Or at least that's what it took this novice to get it done. Definitely learned a few things along the way. My last step to making the car do burns outs agin was to put my recently purchased 3-spoke, wood sport wheel on....that's when it finally dawned on me that I have a '70 wheel that does not appear to fit the '72 column that was installed by a previous owner.

Two questions:

1) Any work around for this other than procuring a '70 column?

2) Expecting that the answer to #1 is no. In the aftermarket space stock is very limited in the 3-spoke, wood wheels. If I don't mind waiting until mid July...then I can pick a few but if I want it this week, which I do, I can only find them on sites like Summit Racing. Summit looks to be preferential to (dare I say) the Chevy's & Ford's. Any of you guys bought a GT wheel and the Mopar 3-bolt adapter and had success? From what I've read this does work.

Guess I have third question...if #2 is yes than where can I get a compatible horn button that doesn't have a freaking bowtie on it?

Is this a factory Mopar steering wheel?
The bowtie reference is somewhat troubling.
A gm wheel will not work on a Mopar column (except maybe a tilt column).

The biggest change and non-interchange issue with Mopars is between 67 and 68.

I don't believe 70 and 72 should be an issue.

I'm pretty sure Grant makes adapters that work.
I put a "500" foamy three spoke wheel on my 66.

Thanks for the detail YY. This isn't a "GM wheel" per se. It's a universal wheel (no-tilt) with a 3-bolt pattern. Talked to Summit and confirmed compatibility with the proper Mopar 3-bolt installation kit. Fingers crossed.
 
Why not get a "Tuff" wheel ? Either original, or the repro ?
Thanks Wile. I think that wheel has a better aesthetic for the '71 & up. I'm committed to the wood, 3-spoke wheel.
 
For the rewire work, I'll post something in the Photo Garage in a week or so.

For the steering wheel debate, the vintage 1970 wood, sport wheel does not work with the pictured 1972 steering column in my 1970 vert.

Big shout out to Tony's Mopar Parts! There's a key spline on the wheel that I was unaware and of course the orientation is way off from where I'd prefer but the '70 vintage wheel does absolutely mount to that '72 steering shaft. Took a bit of love to get it lined up & started but it did go on once all I had a clue on what was required.

Tuff wheel was available on a B body in 1970.
 
If your tires are straight, then you have the steering shaft inserted into the steering coupler on the gearbox 180° out. You will have to pull your steering column out to fix the orientation properly. There is a notch on the shaft and a notch on the coupler, all should be at 12:00.

Lol, I did that once.
To the op, if the coupler is oriented correctly, then the steering wheel will get straightened out with tie rod adjustments when aligned.
