I've seen it but never done it. My smallest drill weighs four pounds. Not good for drilling holes with fragile parts right behind them. Maybe my Dremel would work better.

Never done it, though one of my best experiences at a dealership was at the local Dodge Town removing a plug. My elderly Aunt asked me to ride along as she was going to the dealer to have her K car worked on. She believed that dealerships take advantage of single women.
So it was running rough. The mechanic removed the air cleaner, drilled out and pulled a plug (without removing the carb) dug out some crap, sprayed it, blew it out, and installed a new plug and charged her for 15 minutes of shop time. Wow! It ran great.
Not the first time I've seen a 15 minute charge, but it was one of very few.
