I have a 1966 Satellite convertible with plastic rear window, in need of a new top. The 1967 Satellite body looks almost identical and it came with a glass rear window. Does anyone know why the top for the 67 can't also be fitted on the 66 Satellite? A search for tops brings up no information, unless it has to be custom made. Comments?

As far as I know the differences are in the front end and front fenders due to the parking light vs 4 headlight setup.
The area behind the rear seat and trunk should be identical.
(I have a 66 and my brother has a 67)

See above, asked my top guy he said that, last bow taller.

Is the window removable?

You could get a glass one made fairly cheaply.

If your stuck with a plastic window never wash your car/window with anything with ammonia! I use a lot of car wash on a clean soft brush and gently brush it. To polish window I use Pledge and new micro-fiber cloth.

Edit: To dry plastic window use a fair full roll of paper towels and roll it on window don't wipe.

The first 2 bows are the same. The 3rd is different. 1966 part # 2573408, 1967 # 2784300.
Whats is the actual difference in them other than the reported 4 inches? If it is only that I might get out my welder and add 4 inches to mine

Was told by my top guy the bow is taller. He said 4" but never was able to confirm it. Your Mission Impossible is measure from seat top on a 66 and get somebody to measure a 67. :thumbsup: Joke!

Should have read your whole post.:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: Brain fart.

@jusglazin
Maybe make an adjustable 3rd bow? If you could fab up something to raise up the bow 1/2" at a time until top fit.
To keep plastic window in good shape don't use anything with ammonia! I use a soft brush with fresh car soapy water to clean and take a roll of paper towel and roll it across window. No wiping.

I will find a 67 and get the measurements. I'll post back once I find the difference. I just dont like the plastic. Even when new I cant see crap out of one.
