Saw this post today.... These fires take EVERYTHING in it's path.. Horrible losing so much at once..

"Talk about sellers remorse, here is my 72 numbers matching RR, 400 slapstick auto, 44K original miles when restored. I sold it in the summer of 2013."

This is what happened to it in 2018, caught in the CA wild fires. Makes me feel even worse about ever selling it!

That’s so sad. I cannot blame you. Feel bad enough selling a nice car like that only to find out that something terrible like that became of it years later. RIP RR

Truly sad story. I would hate to lose anything due to those circumstances.

That sad just looking at the pictures.

Damn, knowing what it takes to restore these cars I want to cry! 440'

Wow, that is a horrible sight.
Luckily in Florida we control burn yearly to try and keep this from happening.

I'm sorry to see that!! That's just not right, but, it seems lately I say that a lot about a lot of things. R.I.P.

From what I have heard, California stopped managing their Forrest areas decades ago, and this is proof of their mismanagement!

Oh dear. Makes you wonder what the circumstances were that they didn't know the fire was coming
enough in advance to get the car out of there and somewhere safe?

Same thing happened to my friend and his 69 Camaro, his car was being reassembled with no insurance. So no coverage. Very upsetting.

You are correct.
My sister lives there and she can't even clear brush on her own property without the fear of massive fines from local authorities.

RIP RR

Is the Drive line worth pulling to save for a heart transplant? Granted it would be needing overhaul but just to salvage anything ..

That's a dam shame! Yet another reason not to live in California.
Does it really matter what type of disaster took out that car, by knocking the state where one lives?
How about tornadoes, that devastate parts of the USA on a regular basis.
Or hurricanes in the Gulf states, that put cars under 6 feet of water all the time.
Or disasters that continually take out ocean properties in NY, NJ, and other East coast states.
Maybe i wouldn't like to live where those things of nature take place.

California is a fiscal, political and natural disaster, due to the mismanagement by the powers that be who are responsible for running the state. It's as much of a shame that one of the most beautiful places in the country is in the current state that it is in. Nothing personal about it,but it is as much of a shame as what happened to this once beautiful Road Runner.

From 1953 to 1973 i grew up on the East coast, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the arm pit of that state.
Left in 1973, and joined the Air Force.
After a 2 year tour of duty in Germany, i was reassigned to Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California, area.
Back then, Mather was considered to be one the top 5 bases in the US to get an assignment at.
After a 7 year enlistment, upon discharge, i just stayed here.
Wasn't ever going back to that dump of a city in CT, that i left seven years earlier.
Ya, politically California has certainly changed throughout the decades, but you can say the same thing for states back in your part of the world back East, and some in middle America too.
As i said, that car could have been taken out in a fire, earthquake, tornado, hurricane, or any other disaster that certain parts of the USA are getting.
