About 9 pm last night I took the 71 Challenger to Home Depot. On the way home a Honda whatever goes by and throws 3 revs.
it just so happened we were both turning left as in two left-turn lanes. I throw a big rev which must have vibrated his windows. So he tries to rev again and I hold out my palm waving in a so-so fashion and told him it was weak. The light turns green and after we turn the race is on.

The Challenger fishtails a bit but it's gripping well enough. Take it to about 55 and let off then I get the ricer fly by. What I didn't know he had some buddies behind him until they go by giving me the thumbs up.



 
You need to look behind you before you do that again. My old Challenger came with a cop in the trunk.

I had a something along those lines. A kid in an Acura wanted to play but hadn't heard the term No Replacement For Displacement. Lost big time. About an hour later I get pulled over and when I asked the cop why. He said the other guy was easier to catch. Nice car slow down. Next time I maybe the slower one. I told him I didn't think so but I would slow down. He laughed and we both went on our own way.
 
some of those kids have alot of Daddy's disposable income and they can make those little
rice burners make upwards of 700 HP. It's not funny any more.
 
Wanna see some fast ricers.. Look at Aussie Rotary cars. Jesus the HP they lay down with a rotary engine is crazy. Turbos bigger than the engine itself.

Love that sound, but Felix Wankel was German so wouldn't that make them brat burners?
 
My last street race was in 92 against a 5.0 Mustang. He got beat by a 5.2 Dakota and he didn't like that and ran a red that had been red for a good 5 seconds so he could get away from me after I let off the gas. Could have been bad and that crap made all kinds of stuff go through my mind at what kind of trouble that could have been had he crashed into a car with a whole family in it. I still did some street racing but it was out in the middle of nowhere and away from intersections and traffic lights.....and stayed away from Mustang owners too lol

One bad *** video , me and buddy at Saturday night cruise in car show in the Woodlands Tx , I’m driving my Nickens Brothers prepared 440 4/s Gtx show street car ( mama in passenger seat hates fast ) ok great car show bunch Beautiful show cars , bunch old Guys that used to be bad *** young guys , my buddy and his wife have a great 64 fury 426 cross ram car that once was a drag car and still knows it , he’s cool dude that flys jets for a living ! Car Show getting close to ending , my wife and I say later and we’re gone ! Can you see what’s coming ! We pull up to red light on feeder no cars forever ! I see car pull up and guess who it is , it’s the bad *** Fury , that beautiful piece of Mopar iron ! I look over at him and he gives me a possum eating briars smile ! Oh hell , light turns and what can a guy do , we’re gone ! Ist gear strong , second gear slam , Fury is giving me more than enough , wife’s screaming her butt off ! Third gear , fun is over ! Now I’m a old guy , but candy is dandy and sex won’t rot your teeth , what fun was that and I built a ground up car for cruise and show but Show she did ! Decades of penned up excitement! For your Mopar Pleasure !

Yeah, seems a lot of folks (including Chrysler in 1972) played around with the Wankel...
I did a term paper on the engine back in college, found the design fascinating - but doomed, ultimately.

My first wife was like yours.....she'd go ape on me even if I just mentioned running the car next to me. A lot of times I'd say that just to get a rise out of her because it was the only time she would get a rise going!

AMC planned to use the rotary in the Pacer but the engine AND the Pacer hit too many roadblocks.

You can make all the HP you want with them, they all still SOUND LIKE $hit !! My lawn mower sounds better.

The Mazdas at Summit Point were hilarious to hear passing by; sounded like a swarm of angry bees.
I not so fondly called them "Quisinarts"; their owners failed to see the humor in that. :)
 
I have had 9 Mazda Rx7's Most of them were parts cars over a few years. But had 4 that ran. One was street ported and that little bastard was fast. I left a parking lot one day after burning through first caught a second and layed down 20 feet of posi second gear rubber. Mustangs and Camaros were nothing for that little car. I blew out the rear end and sold it.
