Who has MOVED from their home state ? How difficult was it for you?

Yes sir on all the above. Collards, only after first frost, they’re bitter to me prior to that. Gotta be sweet tea! I can’t eat rutabagas or beets.

When I look at a squash or a collard green, I can't help but think "you know, the first human had to look at that
ugly-assed thing and go "ummmm, now THAT looks tasty!" :lol:

Just to clarify, I do love all seafood, alligator too. Had all types of wild game, there isn’t much I really don’t like.

In all seriousness, that is my main complaint about my move from Pasadena, CA to Grove, OK. Food.
While Grove has excellent BBQ, burgers, fried chicken, etc. I REALLY miss the variety of restaurants in Pasadena. Especially REAL Mexican food.
A very small price to pay for being able to live in my beautiful little(quiet) town though. Zero regrets.

Oddly enough, we've actually got several Mexican restaurants in the region that I like.
Of course, with this part of the world originally being agricultural historically, we've had migrants from that part
of the world over the years, some of which do quite well with their restaurants.
Nothing upscale, of course - just the usual fare, but done well.

In my course of work, sooner or later I've seen most of the commercial kitchens in this region and there are
DEFINITELY restaurants I won't eat in as a result - but most of the Mexican ones are just fine by me.
Now, the Chinese ones? Well...that's a whole other matter.

How the heck did a "have you moved from your home state" turn into such a food fest, anyways? :)
 
We get real Mexican food here, where there are just about as many or more than anywhere from the roadside Tamale vendor!!

Because home is not just where you hang your hat...it is where you fill our stomach!!!! If you can at the food, you are c*** outta luck!!!
 
Is that like Menudo?
I heard that menudo was a mix of all the leftovers from the week....the stuff in the fridge that NObody wanted to eat.

It's a regional thing.
The ONLY good food from Philly is cheesesteaks w/wiz.
You have to get scrapple from Lancaster/York/Lebanon area. Anywhere else is a no no. Those old time Pa Dutchie butchers know how it's done. Everything but the squeal goes into making it. Keep an eye out for snout hairs- :rolleyes:
Lebanon/sweet bologna is another - you either like or not.
 
Mexican soup made with tripe, the stomach lining, usually cattle or sheep.

some are starting to think of moving to another planet to get away from this **** happening now
 
Submit and I just did a 2,900 + mile round trip from MA to Little Rock and back (in 3 days) & drove across Rt40. My impressions of seeing TN on the road are:

Lots of fireworks for sale.
Even more "adult toy stores".
Jesus is everywhere.
Loretta Lynn's dude ranch.
Lots of trailer trucks.
Truck tire shrapnel everywhere.
