Dragway42 Shooting

We used to go to car events in nearby Michigan, Ohio, and New York. We have driven to Carlisle numerous times, and Georgia and Florida occasionally in the past with no concerns. Now, people just seem jumpy in U.S. Some of the posts here seem to bear that out. Now, I would feel that I am one of the few not packing, if I were traveling down there. This leaves me at a disadvantage stopping at rest areas, gas stations, motels, etc. We have already cancelled our out-of-country health coverage that we had to pay for, and likely will not renew our passports when they come due. We are sad about this, because we had good times at events in U.S. and met many fine people at events there. Now we do not feel it is worth the risk. There is still a lot of Canada we have not seen, so plan to do more traveling up here.

We carry, have Radar Detectors, and lots of other “freedom things going on down here. It’s called an open Society. Along with it go risks. We take these freedoms for granted sometimes. I’ll take them. We’ll miss your Dollars though.

When we raced at Devil's Bowl (TX) there was a sign which read no guns allowed. We joked it also read, "we will supply them".

The thing you have to keep in mind down here is we are a country of over 300,000,000 people, when Canada has 30,000,000, which is close to the population of Lawyers who live in the greater DC area.
The problem down here right now is no guns or people it's a lawyer problem. The bad guys know if they get caught they'll my get their hands slapped and that's it.
It used to be that if you shot a police officer it was the death penalty, now they claim self defense LOL. It's kind of like that parent who's kid was a terror and every time he or she acted up, the parent gave the kid a cookie and a time out.
