Here you go. Ratios and what they came in. See the 8-1/4" hiding up there in the /6.
Yes that’s what I was thinking. Well I learned something today. I have never seen the 1 that swapped with a 8 3/4. KimThat's a different 8-1/4. You're thinking of the one used from '39 - '57. There was another that looked IDENTICAL to an 8-3/4 and swapped too! just had a little ring gear.
There's no need to 'vote', 'bet' or 'guess' when the correct factory info and answer is available on Hamtramck Historical

Yeah, this post confused me at first too, but i finally got it after digesting all the help here, and i learned something.Don't be confused with the 8 1/4 (the one with a cover)that didn't have the drop out pumpkin. This looks just like any 8 3/4 pumpkin but differs internally.
Yes, remarkably similar and interchangeable. Odd ratios are the giveaway externally. Somewhere, possibly on this page, are some photos of one but I’m not finding them to link to.I learned something as well. So these older 8 1/4 center sections use a conventional 8 3/4 style housing?

Your 727 cant be the original oneSo, is my 63 SF a 3.23? It has a 70 400 motor, but I don't know if the 727 is original with the original 318. Please see photo. And will these numbers show where and when manufactured? Thanks!
