I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

This all is missing the point ? I dont want to work tomorrow! 36 years in the same field. Now, I'm lucky to have a career and a funded pension. And fortunate to not always make the poorest decisions along the way. Never the less? 36 years is a long time.

40+ here - and as I've learned recently, nobody much is interested in me career-changin' now. :)
Do I "want to go to work tomorrow", though?
FLUCK YES!
I've just had 6-7 months of NOT having work to "go to", after those 40+ years....
and I can damn sure tell you which way I prefer it.

The farther north you go the more you like it. June 21st in Ct with EST a 4:16 am sunrise WTF. Half the day is shot by the time I drink my coffee.

Sunrise that early ? I've been asleep for about an hour at that point!

Bit better than we do....in London (I dont live there but at least you will have heard of that!) on the longest day the sun rises at 4.43am and sets at 9.21pm....so 16hrs 38 minute of sun....assuming its not pissing down like normal!!

I don’t want to go to work today , hell with tomorrow

Back to work tomorrow after eight days of vacation. Back to the salt mines. Retirement sometime in 2026.

I just went back today had a nice little 9 day family vacation ... 3am came way to quick!

The wife takes time off "normally", puts in for it with her employer like most folks.
She'll fly up to NH and visit relatives and such...
Me? I have to pretty much be ordered to take time off, by both boss and wife, who
have formed some sort of odd partnership to gang up on me on the subject.
In my mind, working from home sort of skews things for me - and I still consider myself
the new guy, so I'm constantly nervous about the gig being yanked out from under me.
Pushing my first year anniversary now. Things appear to be well....

That is maybe the biggest downside of working from home. New(er) staff. It's harder on them. We are still working from home. And management has admitted it is working far better than predicted. Sick time is nearly nonexistent. Communications is actually better. (Since now most everyone joins in) Productivity is up. But because of new and staff changes? 100% remote will not feasible. So once this latest surge gets under control? We are anticipating a blend. HR and the labor union still has some concerns. And it's understandable. True hours worked is harder to track. (Too easy to just work a little longer to setup for a better next day transition.) Supervisory also still have some concerns. As one would expect.

I'm an old goat here. Thus it really doesn't matter where stationed or any travel starting point resides. But it looks as if 1 day in office. 4 days remote would work well. (With the obvious option to come in more days if required.)

Mine is admittedly a unique situation, given:
a. my line of work
b. my level of experience
c. my reputation
d. results of my efforts are readily apparent and trackable

I am truly blessed to have been selected for the position - but I do miss "the road",
where I was more in person with folks I look after and more hands-on with the work.
This company protects me, sometimes "for my own good" like freaking Yoda or something. :)
