Welcome from North Carolina. Sorry about your Dad. If there's a vacuum advance on your distributor, be sure to disconnect it and plug the vacuum line before checking the timing.

It is unplugged and plugged up where is my timing supposed to be at idol and where is it supposed to be at what RP m's Well I guess it doesn't matter about RP m's because my tack omner Won't stay still for me to even see where the RP m's are at

I did unplug the vacuum and it's plugged up but where is my timing supposed to be at and at what RPM Is it supposed to be at well I guess it doesn't matter about the RP m's because my needle on the Tech omner don't even stay still for me to see where the RP m's are at

On your timing light, hook the +12V lead to the positive battery terminal and the ground lead to the negative battery terminal. The last lead should be a inductive pickup that goes around the #1 cylinder sparkplug wire. #1 is the most forward cylinder on the driver's side on your car.
Next question.
And be sure to check on the end that clips on the #1 wire, some will have an arrow that needs to point to the plug.

Ah ok .
So pull out plug #1 have someone turn over eng till you get your finger blown off then cly 1 is top dead . Check that your rotor is pointed at number 1 cly and go from there

Tino, You have to get somebody to help you there, in person. A friend, relative, co-worker, someone that knows about car engines and can show you how to go about fixing this problem. It is extremely hard to just try to explain how to do this over the internet.

There are some pretty good vids on YouTube that explain how to set timing in glorious detail. Watch and learn. Welcome and sorry for your loss. Enjoy your dads ride!
