"Please S T O P saying this" thread.

Irregardless, at the end of the day when it's raining cats and dogs outside someone needs to step up and roll the dice on fixing the dizzy. :poke:
:p:rolleyes::D

What the hell is this "fall forward" crap!!! Get into a situation, 1) Turn off emotions & 2) "FALL BACK on your education & training" and get the damn thing taken care of!!! It JUST might save YOUR life as well as your shipmates' lives!! Its a military thing. FALL FORWARD=FACE PLANT!!!:D

I don't like it when people say NO.

You guys have the English language beat down so bad there's nothing left to say. Just my intuitive response to what's left to use.

Poke sack, get in the house..we were in the kitchen, y’all come back now ya hear, I’ll be John Brown?, chillen, get me a switch, what in the tar hill, just some of the things my gramaw would say back in the 50s-60s. Worked in the cotton mill most of her life.

Oh yeah....That chill word annoys me too.
Is your new boss cool?
Yeah....he is totally chill.

I enjoy using terms and phrases that are so old and out of style, they might even be trendy again.
Hey Greg...I fixed the bar b que. Are you ready to grill?
I'm on it like Blue Bonnet.
I'm in it to win it.

That car is fast, you know what I mean?
Yeah, I'm hip.
Far out.

I dislike (borderline hate) the arrogance
of all the spelling & grammar NAZIs

not the phrase

this isn't English lit 101, lighten the **** up
seemingly have way too much time on your hands
to go around worrying about that ****

Here is an idea to consider...
For those that preach the following:

"this isn't English lit 101, lighten the **** up
seemingly have way too much time on your hands
to go around worrying about that ****"

Try doing the same. If your advice is so good to give away to others, try following it for yourself.

If Myself or others are expected to walk on by and not comment, why don't you do the same?

Also....The ones that seem to complain about "Grammar Nazis" are often the one with poor skills or low self esteem.
Wouldn't it be better to improve yourself and remove any risk of looking ignorant?

If I pointed out every error that I see, I'd be too busy to do anything else.
My point in this thread was NOT specifically the bad spelling or grammar but the words that people use FAR too much. Words that people repeat because they think that it makes them sound smart or trendy.

Lit, there's another one.. guess nowadays kids say that in place of cool or badass "man that car is lit". :poke:

I’m tired of “ I’ll be honest with you”

Yep.....That sounds like a phrase that people use to soften the blow of an honest opinion.
It must be human nature or maybe something that just us Americans do frequently.

This man needs no introduction... (Followed by a 3 minute introduction)
It goes without saying.... Then they say it anyway.

Do you want the truth? No. Continue to tell me lies.

Great posts. Members here are thinking outside the box and taking this thread to a new level.

My post was what my gramma said, would give almost anything to hear her or mom speak again.
