Hello everyone, I just parked my 67 Coronet because I will be removing the leaf springs and 8 3/4" rear end assembly. I want to clean it properly add new bushing to the leaf springs. As well as seals, gaskets and bearings to the rear end. In here lies my question, while I have this assembly out I will take advantage and upgrade to disk brakes. Is there a preferred kit out there? I have been looking and so far keep focusing on the inline tube kit with parking brake option. As for the bushings for leaf springs i have those already. But is there a complete kit to rebuild the rear end? Thanks in advance.

Rick Ehrenberg did a magazine article a year or so ago that used ALL mopar parts. It would require some legwork as its not a "kit" but its worth investigating.

Is that the one where they machined one of the brackets to 1/10 of an inch thick?

I would stay with a good set of drum brakes for the rear since the front brakes do about 70% of the braking also they are reliable and cheap, but if have to have disc brakes on the rear like what was said before go to Dr Diff. Another thing to add most likely if you are ending up with a 4 wheel disc brake setup generally you will need a very good dual diaphram brake booster or have to go to a hydroboost to have enough pressure to efficiently run the brakes. JMHO.

I remember some machining but to "1/10" of an inch seems a little harsh. Maybe they took 1/10 off ??? I'll look at the article later tonight - I think its in the stack in my night table !!
