So I'm trying to convince myself to pitch this -- I cleaned it up, wire wheel, sanded it, but it still looks like it's really been used/safety issue. I could scratch of the paint and small layers of rust came with it before I cleaned it. I try to stay as original as possible, but this thing is very bumpy. Can someone tell me if I need to get a Hellwig or similar and just call it a day?

It's not going to break.
I'd hit it with a flap disc.
The isolators are a little tougher to change.

Sharp edges like cuts could be problem, pits like I don't see any issue.

Thanks! I actually found an Energy Suspension 5-5113G that looks to be an extremely close match to the original bushing/isolator. I got the Moog rubber replacement first and it was not that close. I appreciate everyone's quick comments and help!

Doubt there is a safety Issue there lol its a sway bar.
I guess I'm a little overly concerned -- I had a broken sway bar link stab a tire in Myrtle Beach a few years ago in a rental car.
