Hi all,,
This is probably a very dumb question, but will the stock power steering brackets from a 440 fit my 1968 vintage 383?
I need to change out the aftermarket March Performance billet aluminium brackets (which have never lined up correctly) for stock, and have been offered a set off my buddies 69 440 Charger.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks,
Limey

Hi Dave - That's really useful.
I didn't know there were 2 types of pump.
Think my current pump is the Federal type but as it's fried I'll be replacing it with the correct one for the brackets (if I can find one)! Hope Rock Auto can help.
Back to my original question - will the brackets from the 440 bolt up to my 383, or did they have different brackeys for the 2 big blocks?
Thanks for the info - appreciated!

Brackets do interchange between all big blocks. As others have said, make sure you have the proper ones for your particular pump. Also, size of return line to pump changed from large to small sometime around 1966, so you have to watch what size line is on your steering box.

I'm hoping to take the brackets from a '69 440 to put on a 68 383 so from what you say the lines should be the same?
Thanks for taking the time to help me out guys - very much appreciated!
