Boom Tubes

It does have some weight to it. I don't think it weighs alot more than an exhaust system that goes all the way to the bumper. I wanted something different and wanted both sides, loud and quiet.

It's back in now. There's a few things left to do before I let it down and drive. I do think it has a good sound right now but I will find out when I drive it.

I've always been a fan of straight pipes and have found ways to make them 'quieter' but need to fab one that 'looks' like the system has mufflers. So far with a straight on my diesel, it's passed inspection every time for the past 20 years and with no evidence of it having a muffler! Must be something with the turbo setup.....?

I will say that going thru the mufflers the car is not bad but when the cutouts are open it it LOUD. The tips act like a megaphone and magnifies the sound. It does sound really cool but it is loud. It's not too low and hasn't hit anything yet. I measured 4 1/2 inches off the ground.

Looks great!! DEFINATELY load up a sound track!!
Guy around here has a Chevy powered Merc with dual SS fire extinghers as flame throwers. Was at a car show, little 4 bangers started their ****, Jeff pulled out, tached it to 4k, and lit em off, quiet the rest of the night!!

I haven't been able to load a video. It tells me the file is too large. I dumbed it down and it still doesn't load. I'm still trying to figure it out.

As i understand, you cant load a video direct, not enough server space. A video has to be loaded to you tube, and referenced here.

Seems pretty quiet even with the cut outs open. I bet you’re getting some chambered sound muffling with the multiple paths the exhaust can take with the CO open.

I think this tips you made are acting like a chambered muffler. Both sound good. I’m sure it would be a lot of work, but I’d like to hear it straight piped with just those tips.

@BDF6, its only illegal if you get caught, kind of like speeding. Tell cop it is to ensure complete fuel burn so you have lower CO & CO2, its a GREEN thing.

Car sounds and looks great. Love the Boom Tubes.

Unfortunately I just removed my BOOM TUBES that were originally for a Winston Cup style car (3.5" oval tubing, single exit, heavy). The exhaust was actually very quiet on the inside, but at least 128 - 130 dB outside the car (passenger, single exit). Above 3,500 RPM it was like being at the Daytona 500, but still somehow very quiet INSIDE the car. Really a great overall exhaust system.
