Hi,

Does anyone out there make reproduction/replacement wiring harnesses?? My '66 has been hacked and spliced all over the place making ir darn near impossible to trace anything. This car went from a points/condenser ignition to the MOPAR electronic version to an MSDS distributor and coil today. Similarly the mechanical regulator is now the later electronic version. I'm thinking my best bet will be to replace everything under the hood and start over from scratch as opposed to trying to figure out the "rat's nest"..

Any guidance is greatly appreciated....

Joel

Tommy, at Parts Hound, has made my console harnesses, rear & forward light harnesses, as well as rebuilding my wiper motor, and alternator. I'm pleased with all of it.

Classic industries sells them but warning their website is quite awful.
If you look carefully they offer them with provisions for electronic ignition and solid state voltage regulators

I've been looking at the year one harnesses. I think I'm getting one asap. They make it with the later regulator and electronic ignition, too. But their website is lacking as well.

M&H , sold by year one. They are awesome and affordable
I used all 3 harnesses and a couple others ( not in the catalog) that M&H built for me ( console) in my 67, and the harnesses were like getting a new one from factory Mopar.... Spendy, but worth it in my opinion

I was at the stereo shop (before my car was back on the road) and a beautiful Black 67 chevelle was there with less than 50 miles on it after a resto.. Owner got back in the car and tried to start it when smoke came out from under the hood..You could smell it was electrical.. Popped the hood and it took forever to find a wrench to take the battery cable off the neg post.... It was a no brainer after that to put all new wiring in AND keep a Battery wrench in the car..

Another vote for M&H from Year One or Classic. Installing them on my 66 and they look to be a quality product.
