Aftermarket Gauge Cluster

Auto meter gauges will fit into a stock Rallye gauge cluster easlily if you have one kicking around.
Here is what I did to my 74 Runners cluster...all the gauges were pooched anyway.

Hey Ram250098,

sorry for bumping an old thread. But I’m looking to do the same as you with my cluster.

what size gauges did you use and how did you mount them?

there is a guy that makes carbon fiber bezels so the autometer gauges fit them - man its been awhile but I can't remeber who makes them anymore...

Yeah I’ve seen those. I just like the look of the original “wood” cluster

me too - although if I didn't get a radio delete dash I probably would have bought one of these instead...

What Autometer is doing is offering ClassicDash products.
Definitely possible autometer is only like 3 dollars cheaper. I don't see the matching passenger side trim piece included from classic dash but maybe they do but don't list it.

trust me, it is... ClassicDash is as far I know the manufacturer. They floated around maybe 7 years ago if not more on their website. Then many shops began to offer their products and sets including the Autometer gauges. The Autometer offer on their website is fairly new.

dunno why doesn't appear the passenger insert on their website... it was couple of years ago last time I checked and it was. I noticed the website was redesigned too.

It’s like everything else now, everybody’s selling something from someone else and with all the delays from which ever excuse they use customer service has gone away…. Used to be important to treat people with respect and service but not nowadays. Really sucks…..:wtf: :mob:

I think Jegs is also selling the same setup. Wondering if there is really a difference on customer service ?

I have found for years many other vendors selling these on eBay.

I just read a members post a month ago who was trying to convert to the Classic Dash. The bezel gave major fitment issues & he ended up converting a stock rallye cluster... It was a long read through all the issues but the fitment problems turned me off on the CD parts...
I'm sure the post could be found in the search

Yes, the deal with the CD bezel is that is just that, a bezel. A thin plastic bezel with weak and not exactly precise provisions to the factory locations while the stock setup is strong and gets reinforcements at several points to hold the assembly. Some ppl can live with that and don't care some massaging/mods to get a correct fitment, some others not. I guess is about personal prefferences. Is at least an option.

A major deal are the light and wiper switches, which are designed to be fit on the housing and not at the bezel.

Does anyone make an aftermarket gauge cluster (instrument panel) for the 71-72 Satellite/RR/GTX vehicles? Something that you could install Autometer gauges into?

I know some people really like the stock look but I really like the custom gauge look and the comfort of more reliable gauges.

Curious if anyone has made their own custom instrument panel as well.

Thanks
