When I was getting the engine running again, I noticed that two of the plug wires were damaged, one burnt and one chewed by critters. This is in a 1966 Charger with a 361, but I assume a 383 would be the same. I ordered a new set from Blue Streak, which are supposed to be stock replacement. I am not sure that the previous owner had the wires correctly routed. You can see that there are 3 135 degree boots and the rest are 90's. Can anyone confirm which three cylinders should have the 135 boots? Numbers 6 and 8 come over the valve cover, while all the rest come up from below.

These will help you to stop getting burnt wires. I slide them all the way over the boot.

Do you have HP manifolds? If so I think number 8 and 6 will get the 135 boots and the number 5 on the driver side. Number 7 wire goes up and over the intake and valve cover area. 1,2,3,4 and 5 get the 90's Someone will give you a better Idea but I thing thats correct.

Thanks I have standard manifolds but I tend to agree on 6 and 8. Number 6 has a woven sleeve on it now. I have a DEI sleeve I can use on the new wire. I'm thinking number 7 might need the other 135 boot.

Got it done yesterday. Started with the passenger side and I ended up having to redo it since the number 1 and 3 wires were too short. Here is how it ended up. Drivers side first.

Number 8 wire got too close too the exhaust and burnt it. Decided to tie rap it to the fuel line then run up to the front and to distributor. On the drivers side ran them to the front on the out side of dip stick then used the batterie cable to tie rap them too and up over my valve cover. Back to the distributor. Got me some Wire loom's and holders from O Reilly's auto part's. Did not want to brake loose head bolts to mount the wire loom.

I replaced all the factory looms, and I used them all. With the A/C it is very tight to get the drivers side wires through. I am happy that everything has lots of clearance on the exhaust manifolds now.
