Fit testing parts on my 65 coronet with a 426 street wedge. Does this look correct on plug wire shields?
Have 2 bags of different ones
Thanks

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, as Mike says, they look good.

At risk of taking your post off-topic, I do have a couple questions and statement about that vintage antique iron (beautiful, in my mind) you have there;

Is that an original street wedge oil pan?? Got a pic of the bottom?? Do you have a build thread of what you are working on for us to follow?? Did that motor come complete, like original from your 65 Coronet? Of interest to some, your pic clearly shows the two bosses absent from later RB blocks (needed for some installs). They are just above the oil pump on the drivers side. And lastly, see the white markings (factory) on the passenger side.... looks like a kindergardner got loose with a grease pencil... Anybody know what the factory inspector? was doing there.... my '65 383 was the same way, and I know I've seen others. TIA, Lefty71

The motor block and most of the parts are original to the car. Oil pan has no numbers stamped in the pan which is correct to the car. Not sure on block markings? Bosses are there just not in the picture. I guess I'll flip over to the restoration forum

Jim914..I am doing the restoration on my 1964 Dodge 440 426 Street Wedge and that is the way that I am installing those pieces.

Lefty71 on my 64 block, I do not have those bosses you asked about. Never saw those before.
Oil pan is the same on mine.

The bosses on the block were for the driver side motor mount . I had a 1965 Monaco with 426 wedge and 4 speed trans years ago . It was a total rust bucket . parted it out .

Mine is Casting number #2532230. Bosses are present, but they are not drilled and tapped. I thought the motor came from a B-body application, street wedge, not maxie.

CORRECTION, the bosses are high on the cylinder and they are drilled and tapped.

2532230 426 Wedge Block 1964-66

2406730-1 426 Max Wedge Block-AAQA 1963-1965. Also this is the same block used for my 1964 Dodge 426 Street Wedge.
The only difference between the Max Wedge and Street Wedge is that the Max Wedge blocks were notched the exhaust valves.

Yes that ignition shield is correct .There is also a 2 wire shield centre positioned on the head.
Also the 426 street wedge wasn’t the same as a 426 max wedge block (63-64),not just because it lacked exhaust notches but it didn’t have a 1/2” oil pickup. Also all MW blocks had -1 designation.

Can you post a photo of the 2 wire shield on the head? I am only aware of the two rear ones.

1962Polara...My 1964 Dodge 440 426 Street Wedge 4 speed's block number is 2406730-1 the same number on all three of my 426 Max Wedge blocks. However is does have the 3/8 oil pickup and not the 1/2 and is not notched for the valve reliefs.
I have several 426 Street Wedge blocks in my collection of motors and I will check the casting number on them and get back to you with what I find.

While everyone is here. I know there is the insulation pad that goes under the intake. Are these shields installed on the front and back of the intake of my 65 426 street wedge?

I’m interested in what you find. In particular there are two numbers claimed to be used for both 413s and 426s. I’ve seen evidence of one but not the other.

I haven't seen that is years, but if memory serves me right, it went in front.

Nate S...I checked the one 426 block that is not with all the others along the wall and found the following information- On the front pad -B426 below that 1 7. Casting numbers 2532230-2 date on block 4-22-65. And there on the left front of the block are 2 drilled boss. So that being said Lefty 71 is correct in his post. 426 Street Wedge block used in a 1966 Plymouth or Dodge.
I will check the rest of my 426 blocks and let you know more tomorrow.
