Opinion on this GTX for sale

Of course a 426 Hemi is considered to be a big block.
No it isn’t, it’s VOODO! Chrysler even said so.

I wish I had you guys along when I bought my Road Runner. A year later I'm still finding stuff I missed.

I think bid is about right. Assuming fully drivable. Would be surprised if it goes anything past low $30s.

The column shift auto holds it back also a bit.

Is that air cleaner original, mine was missing and not sure what Im looking for.....thanks

Clean is a relative word

it had a clear title & was a Calif. car until 5+ years ago
so it shouldn't be a total rust-belt bucket

an A/C car if it actually works a plus too

Looks to be 'solid car' with typical 50+ years of 105k miles use
carpet looks dingy, not clean
engine bay looks like a daily driver, dingy, not clean
not sure about the firewall being black
or whether it's just poor lighting in the photo

be nice to read the VIN & Fendertag photos

so far @ $28k is not too bad of a deal,
I doubt it will end at that price thou either

don't get much for $30k anymore

it's a 68 GTX pretty desirable cars
not exactly a survivor/mint condition either
but not a rustbucket trash heep either

I've seen far worse sell for far more too, even here
look at the gen 2 Charger Basket Cases for $30k

it's not 1990 anymore (or pre-2007)

need to get eyes on it, by yourself/in person
or someone that knows these cars well
I agree. So far? Maybe even tick under average. E-bay can sometimes get stupid. Just takes two who refuse to lose. 68-70 Charger of course is a different animal. I'm sure you have seen my whining comparing my '69 GTX to my friends '69 Charger SE? My GTX is a better car. Performance, (440 vs 383) 4-speed vs automatic. But every metric suggests he would get 20%-40% more for that Charger. (Very simular conditions) The B5 Blue and black bucket seats and of course hideaway headlights sure does help his cause?

The spider webs in the back seat are a nice touch.

Those ain't no spidey webs....they be pubic hair tumbleweeds.

Looks like a solid car, but in serious need of a lot of bodywork and serious coin spent to bring it up to being a decent car overall.

Car only got to right about 30k a few weeks ago.

The more i look at it. The more I think thats about all its worth.

Needs ckd in person before i would go much more than that

Car looks real nice in the pics but needs a lot of work

I’m suprised it’s that high. Man I guess prices are still climbing

One hour left. Will it hit $30k? I'm not sure which way to root?

If it really sold that price is about enough for it.

$28.2k? That's about right for a 68 GTX column shift automatic. I would rate a 3 in condition? (1-5 scale) possibly a little better assuming all support components functional. 2.8?

Anyways, not a bad car for us to compare any of our GTX on current market values?

For giggles I put Baby Blue in the covered car corral at the Chrysler Nationals two weeks ago (had already reserved the space for my '69 Track Pak which ended up selling immediately after I put it on the open market.
Based on on pictures alone, the guy who bought my '69 started talking 43k. I quickly talked him out of it - my car is a poster child for checking them out in person. The paint is 36 year old lacquer, and is cracked, dried, stone chipped, and has some crazed clear coat. The paint doesn't show flaws in a photo. She is no show car, and never has been, looks like a well-maintained 3 year old would have back in the day.

Upsides: documentation from day one, factory console, NOS parts galore, no dents of any kind, clean undercarriage with original paint, original floor pans and trunk floor, new headliner, carpet, and seat covers. Only rust repair was driver's side wheel well and lower quarter panel. I got one offer of 20K.
I had several other owners of '68 GTXs comment that my car would be the one to buy, because the dried old paint showed how good the body underneath really was, nothing hidden. Even though the car is not for sale, I was curious to see if anybody would make reasonable offer. Did not happen, but some shiny stuff in the corral did sell.

Guess I need to go on ebay if I ever decide to sell her.

They always say, I would buy it in a heartbeat if..... if I did not have too many, if the wife would let me, if my dog did not need braces.
Too many people don't realize an old Mopar has to be able to bring $20,000 before it should bring $30,000.

In an attempt to make a tough comparison? I bought my '69 GTX 3 years ago near the Canadian boarder for $21.5k. What is flatout more appealing than the Ebay '68?

'69 a little more favorable year.

Vehicle condition better. (I wouldn't grade it a full "2" as it is driver quality. 2.5?)

4-speed.

Dana rear vs 8 3/4.

What's not as favorable?

Non-numbers matching. In fact not even close. Wrong transmission, interior, engine. (Although all is period correct. '68 stamped 440. Trans looks also to be '68.)

History. I only know last 30 years. First 20? Unknown as that owner and original owner has passed. But from what I can gather? The car is from 2 '69 GTX with some Sport Satellite body parts. (Both fenders)

Because of the pros and cons? I would consider the value close if not a little better than the Ebay '68? (Primarily because of the year and transmission difference.)

Quick walk around vid of said car. All opinions welcome.
