Pulled the rocker arm assemblies out and the rockers were so ovaled they were junk so the shafts and rockers are being replaced too.

Just an update, things are coming together and in doing so problems that were found are being addressed. It was noticed by Don that the fan had been mounted backwards by the previous owner which helped to explain the huge gap between the fan and radiator. I have also had to address a rather strange mounting of the radiator so some modifications were made to it to mount flat the the radiator shell, this is not shown in the photos. I am waiting for the fan pulley spacer so the fan is not yet bolted to the water pump, I also have a new power steering belt coming tomorrow. Fairly new rocker assemblies were installed as well as new pushrods so it’s looking pretty good. Wiring is being upgraded for the early 70’s style electronic voltage regulator and matching alternator, there will also be a mini starter installed. Notice the orange BFH:lol:

Bought a 69 Satellite in the mid 70's with a fresh 440 engine that had the fan on backwards AND short reach plugs on one side and long reach on the other. I pulled the heads just to be sure. It was never fired and still have that engine for my 66 Belvedere but with closed chambered heads instead of the 906's and a Hemi grind cam and also installed moly rings.....
 
The rockers look dry. Oil 'um good before installing the valve covers.
Are you going to prime the oil system before starting ?
 
Yes I am going to prime the system prior to starting. Just going down my check list, just picked up a 3.23 SureGrip that I need to install to complete.

Bob worked really hard on it and the results proved it.

Moving right along, removing axels to install new bearings and seals while I am installing my 3.23 sure grip. Will also install a new rear brake hose, it’s dried and cracked. Already installed a dual master cylinder and distribution block so bleeding of the brakes is in order, may as well update them all.
 
Had some changes…I removed the entire 64 rear end and purchased a 68/70 housing with axles, backing plates and drums. Backing plates are for 11” brakes which could cause an issue with the 10” brakes On the front. Could have added an adjustable valve on the line going to the rear to keep the bias the same. I talked to a friend of mine and he gave me two new Wagner 7/8” wheel cylinders to replace the one inch cylinders on the car now. I was told this cure has been used many times to eliminate the problem when mixing sizes of brakes. The 7/8” cylinders are used on pickup trucks to help eliminate lock ups so it makes sense. I have ordered replacement parts including new emergency brake cables so once installed it will be like new.
While working under the rear of the car I found that the spring bushings were shot so I dropped the springs and order new Moog bushings. My fuel gauge stopped working and after I removed it I found the float had a hole in it and the sock was missing so I ordered a replacement and installed that today. Things are coming along and once all the parts for the rear end show up and hope to have it back on the ground quickly.
 
Sure, an adjustable proportioning valve would do the trick.
 
You may need to take the springs somewhere to do the front bushings. Mine were not easy.
 
The rear end installation is completed, on top of replacing the main parts of the rear end I also installed all new brake lines, bushings, Gabriel Classic shocks, new universal straps, new wheel cylinders, freshened up my original parking brake cables and installed a new fuel sending unit. I originally ordered new aftermarket emergency brake cables and they were not correct, not sure how many 64 Fury’s are found in India but they were junk. Again Don Frelier came to the rescue to help with the installation. I assembled the rear end completely including the differential and with the shackles removed we were able to place the housing on the locator pins and bolt it together with new U bolts. In about 3 1/2 months the engine and rear end were replaced, the transmission was gone over and serviced. Many of the systems in the car have been updated, dual master cylinder, electronic ignition, 3 wire alternator and electronic voltage regulator and installation of a mini starter were all updated or installed. Other items that I came across that were questionable were replaced or rebuilt to help to eliminate issues that could bite me in the *** later. The summer was spent with the car on stands and the season is pretty much over but there still remains other small issues such as the instrument panel lights, the adjustment of the front seat and completion of weather striping. Thanks to all that answered the countless questions, offered information, encouragement or physical help.
