Got a set of General Lee wheels that came along with my 67 Coronet R/T project and i'm planning to put them on just to roll it around while i work on it. Anyone know what kind of lug nuts i need to use on these? The holes are elongated and it looks like they came from the factory that way. Probably for dual use on ford/chrysler or something like that.

This is the back side of the wheel view where you can see the holes better.

Generally they used a shouldered lug nut....

Check depth but probably same as Cragar SS Unilug They use an offset washer.

bada BING

Just use regular shank mag lugs, with the right shank length, with regular washers. To the inside of the slot for mopar/ford, to the outside for chevy. The lugs will center the wheels.
Edit. The offset washers are only neccessary if the wheels have slots on the face side for them. Since we havent seen the front side.......

Yeah, when I typed out that word....it hit me lol

Thought about that too but need to see the fronts to know for sure if those use those nasty unilug stuff. Years ago I had a set of Fenton's that used the oval holes but used the shouldered lug and not the unilug washers.

Me too, a set of 200s americans. I dont know if the slots were factory, but i used those wheels on a 65 ford, and a 55 chevy. No special washers.

Some of those "dual pattern" (NOT uni-lug) work with just a regular washer.

The studs can only go in the slots one way (the right way) for either pattern.

Once you get 2 or 3 nuts on, it's centered.

Thanks for all the responses. This is what the face of the wheel looks like (crappy picture). There is a very shallow slot in the same shape as those unilug keystone washers BeepBeepRR mentioned so i'm kind of guessing that's what i need along with the correct nuts.

Anways i had to put them on for now with acorn lug nuts. They didn''t seem to center well but good enough for now. It's just temporary to roll it around. No engine, trans, or interior in it.

Thanks

If the nuts have the proper shoulder, they should center.

I have hurricane style 15x8 on my D100 that are dual 5 on 4 3/4 and 5 on 5 and they center just fine.

How deep are the slots? If they were machined for the Unilug system, the slots should be at least 1/8" deep and maybe a 1/16" more.....it's been a long while since having a set of Unilug wheels and no, they won't center too well using the standard acorn nuts so go easy on them and well, I would try to not roll it around all that much with them. You are probably going to have to file a raised edge out of the holes that the acorn nuts made when you snugged them up once you get the shouldered lugs....it the wheels will accept them. If they were mine, I would try the shouldered lugs first. Just 3 would let you know if they will work or not and might even let you know just trying one. I should have some if you're interested. Pretty sure I'm not going to use them....if they are still in the container.

I would say the slots where it looks like a washer goes is no more than 1/16". I'll see if i can round up a few shouldered nuts and try those first. I didn't snug the acorn nuts up very tight at all so i think they'll be fine. Most of the studs are missing or stripped on the driver side due to people not realizing they're left hand threads. It's only gonna be rolled 10' at most. Basically just needed to get the wheels that were on it mounted back on my driver. Took them off the Satellite and put them on the coronet when i went to pick it up cause all the tires were flat and rotten.

Here's a pic of the coronet in case anyone is interested. 67 R/T. The guy i got it from used it as a parts car for his 67 Hemi R/T.
