MOPAR Friends: My 1969 Charger came from the factory with the code R22 AM/8-Track radio (see photos). And yes, it's one of the few factory 8-track players that still work. Naturally, I wanted a diverse selection of music to play, so I've been collecting 8-track cartridges for many years. As of this morning, I have 358 of them, all of which work. I've found a way to disassemble and repair them when the tapes break (usually at the signal tape splice) or when the foam pressure pads crumble. I'm claiming to have the largest operable 8-track tape collection on the B body website. So the challenge has been issued! Can you top this? If so, you must provide photographic evidence as I have below. Even if you don't have a lot of tapes, feel free to weigh in with your 8-track stories from back in the day. All submissions are welcome. Now go down into the basement and count up those tapes - and remember: They have to actually work to count. Who will knock me off the top? Game on!
