What's the first car that you drove over 100 mph?

My parent's 1967 Chrysler New Yorker. Turbine bronze, 4 door.

I dont really recall since this is no big deal in germany.
I would suspect it was our 1994 Opel Vectra A or 1989 Mercedes 560 SEC. I tend to belive that is was the mercedes.

Remember when there were certain parts of the country (out west) where there were no posted speed limits...and warning signs to gas up with the next station being 100 miles or something like this...I'm old.

When I was 14 in 1982, I took my mom's 1971 buick lesabre out on the under construction I-675 bypass which was unfinished concrete still with some forms on the outside.

Must have been a school holiday and construction holiday but a work day for mom.

120 MPH for a somewhat extended period of time.

I had no idea how much roadway I had in front of me.

Damn, I was a hellion.

Mom deserves a medal.

My 68 Charger when it was unrestored years ago.
It vibrated like crazy, I heard something fell off but the engine just wanted to go faster.
I dont think my pants was dry after that. :D

And speaking of fast cars, I went to work at the Local Chry-Ply dealership in Alton IL right out of high school in '69. One of my jobs was to service new cars so I got to "Test" all the RR's and Gtx's I serviced. On one afternoon in '69 there was a winged warrior delivered =, yep a B5 blue Super Bird. 440 auto. It went straight into the shop and I was told to go over it with a fine tooth comb as it was going straight on the showroom floor. After servicing it I had to
"Test" drive it. Now there is a 4 lane divided highway running out of town called the "River Road", as it ran right along the old Mississippi River, about 15 miles to the next town. This was my test strip. I would first cruise up the road for several miles and make sure there was no "Fuzz" present or hiding!!!,,, Then I would turn it around and see low it performed!!!~ I have to tell you, those winged cars sure hugged the road at higher speeds, those nose cones and wings really worked!!! I really don't remember how fast I got it going as I hit the city limits pretty quick!!! That SB spent a long time on the show room floor and was then moved to the shop when the
71's came out, they could'nt sell it, I really don't remember what happened to it, it drew a lot of attention though!!!!!

PS you remember that term "FUZZ"????

fuzz 1)Antiquated slang for the police. 2)Pubic hair. 3)Distorted, guitar sound achieved by use of an effects pedal, originally a fuzzbox.

I was always looking for the FUZZ!!!!!

My Mom's 1970 boat tail Riviera with a 455. Snuck it out when I was 15.

74 amx we had a county cop that always cruised the neighbor and raced him down route 13 and smoked him,two months later he was busted for coke,

1981 I bought my first car when I was 15.Drove it for 3 months before I even had my license. 73 Charger 400/727/3.23 .Paid 500 bucks for it and should be in jail for what I did to that car for 2 years. Buried the speedo more times than I can count.

The tough thing is 100 how many 200?
150 is top. But have a build going that can do 200. (Even possibly in 1/4) But car has to accept the build first? My mind and right foot has little meaning if car says "Nope!"

Top now is over 300 but still like 130. For a road car 12 is fun as hell thats all I want.

Keep the faith man its all fun .

1968 “crew cab” roadrunner. My 1st b body. Factory 318 suspension, and worn out leave springs. 10” manual drum brakes. 383/727, with 3.55 gears. It was a little scary floating all over the road, I had just enough control. It’s the reason I did better with my GTX, that’ll cruise so comfy at a 100.
