turn signal won't cancel

Is it a replacement switch? I put in a replacement switch and I could not manually cancel the turn signal. When I used the signal making a turn it self canceled perfectly.I figured out a fix And it is all explained in a different post.
Say Mike where can I find that post.

Unless you have something retarded going on with your turn signal, it's pretty stout and notches in the "neutral" off position pretty solidly. It's nothing like the turn signals on new cars. Are you a young guy?
No not new to older car's. Always tryed to have 60's or 70's vehicles. But now day's have a 2011 ranger ford. 1999 ford F350 diesel 4X4 dually. Well 67 is not that old but young at hart. Love my 69 runner alway's wanted one. Now I have it. Five long years of work on it to bring it back to life. Restored from the ground up. Thanks for the info.

Will try to see if I can just pull the handle slightly to see if it will work that way with out locking it into full turn. May try your trick in the future. Right now just tired of working on the car and want to drive it. Appreciate all the info out their. Blue.

If your using the signal to merely change lanes, move the lever enough to operate the signal without going past the catch, then let go when your finished. If you go past the catch, you have to manually push it back past the catch to the released position yourself.

When did touch feature signaling arrive? In my '63, the lever has to be 'engaged' locking the lever to have a signal. Turning the wheel enough trips the signal off or move it back manually.

70, with the new design turning switch with Hazzards on column

Grate advice from all. I was trying to get the blinker to come on to pass with out locking it fully in. Have done some test try's an have it figured out I think. The switch dose clear fine when turning the steering wheel. Thanks all.

That is the exact situation I had when I replaced my turn signal switch. After instituting the fix I describe, It now functions normally by manually canceling, or self canceling
