Thinking of swapping out my P4120661 cam for a Comp CL21-228-4 Hyd. It's on my 540 stroker with 440-EZ-1 heads and 4500 intake. Has a ATI Treemaster 729800 and 4:30 rear gears. Looking for input and opinions!

But I guess it depends on what you’re trying to achieve.
One of my biggest concerns with cams these days is the functionality of the current crop of hyd lifters in a high performance application...... especially with fast rate cams.
540ci, EZ heads, Indy 4500 intake, 4.30 gears, Treemaster converter...... doesn’t really scream “mild street car”.
Sounds like kind of combo put together to run some quick ET’s.
To that end, as I said in the beginning..... the hyd cam seems counterintuitive.
What kind of ET's are you running with it now? Are you wanting it to be more street friendly and what kind of car and weight are you pulling around?Thank you, opinions are what I'm asking to receive. Thanks for yours

Wanting to make it more street friendly and less maintenance.
Thank you, just trying to figure what to do and what to use, very helpful, ThaksWell, the “streetability” between the two cams won’t be very different.
As for the maintenance....... the amount of labor involved for the cam swap would be about equivalent to 10 years or so of valve adjustments.
(I’d be pretty surprised if you’re driving that car enough to warrant more than one annual lash adjustment)
If you truly want to make it a better street car/cruiser..... get rid of the 4500 carb, and swap the manifold for an Indy dual plane, take some gear out of it, and put in a tighter converter.
What's your static compression ratio and cranking PSI with the cam that's in it? If your static is close to 11-1, you need to be careful with the cam selection but the one you're looking at (the one you have already might be doing that) might bleed off enough psi in the lower rpm ranges to not worry about low rpm ping.....but I'm with what PRHeads said. Steetability won't be all that different. If the cam is too lumpy for you, advancing it some usually helps but talk to someone that knows more than I do about it first and make sure to check valve to piston clearance.
