68’ Coronet that has the factory bracket in place but the nut was not installed. I will be using the pictured anchor plate but I can’t seem to find any good instructions on pulling the A/B/C interior pillar trim. Does anyone have a good video or instructions. It appears to just be clipped in, but mine won’t budge using a bunch of pressure. Thanks.

I might be interested in doing this. Where do you install this?

I will answer to close the door. The issue is 50 years. The stuff is just tight. Take a small block of wood and place on top of the trim piece and pressed against the headliner. Tap it straight down towards the asphalt. That interior trim is just a “U” piece with clips and will release. This reveals the transfer space between the exterior skin and the secondary interior sheet metal. The seat belt anchor needs to go in the middle but there is no access. I plan to route a slot in this space just large enough to pass the anchor, fish it up to the home position and bolt it in. Seems easy enough. Trim and weatherstripping will cover the slot at the end.

You can feel the upper mount hole thru the headliner; Open it up.

Block of wood to knock the trim loose. It does not need to come all of the way off. Just get it loose past the upper anchor hole.

This is what you will end up with but obviously installed between the inner and outer sheet metal.

Mark the area in the transfer zone the width of your anchor. Drill across and join the holes to make a slot. Slip the anchor in and bolt the upper belt in.

Tuck the weatherstripping back in and install the door trim. Bolt up the other (2) belt anchors and call it a day.

Thank you for the explanation and pictures!
So where did you get the anchor plate?
And are those seat belts original to the car?

All (5) belts are XV Racing. They seemed the best value and quality that I could find. I went ahead and replaced all of the anchor bolts with new and the (2) upper anchors are all from Seat Belt Planet. Not sure how I ended up there but they have good product and prompt shipping.
