This carb ran fantastic on my 1970 Dodge 318 when wanted a four barrel.
Very good condition for a rebuild or restoration for a numbers car.

The carb has never been apart. You sound like you are very familiar with the carb. If those piston springs are inside they will still be there.Question: Do you have the connecting link from the choke shaft fitting that connects to the fast idle cam. This link lifts up the fast idle cam when the choke closes. Does the carb still have the 2 spring primary step up pistons? Please advise at your convenience.

Looking at the picture you can see I purchased this as a rebuild years ago. There is a stamp on it. There was no reason to pull it apart because the engine ran great as is.
Does it look like in the pic that a link is missing?
I will look at it again and try to get you a more definitive response for you.
Thanks for the update.....yes, the Carter 3854S carb was used on a 1965 235HP/273 Cubic inch Barracuda Formula S model (also Dodge Dart), automatic transmission. The 3853S was used on 4 speed cars. I've used this carb on a 1967 Beleveder II with an LA318 engine and the single plane 273 HP manifold and dual point distributor.....excellent results. 1Wild R/T posted a pix (TKANKS) of the missing link's (pun intended) location. No hurry for the explanation.....I'm just in the contemplating stage........BTW....what's the date code stamped on the left front mounting lug? In addition, some one drilled the mounting flange lugs for additional holes....the origional carb only had 4 mounting holes....not eight.

Regarding the date code stamping....a simple alpha numeric code
A = January
B = February
c = March
D = April
E = May
F = June. Etc.
Followed by the year ..... for your carb....it would be a 4 for 1964 or 5 for 1965 . But the build date of the carb or any other similar date coded component would precede the build date of the car that the part was to be installed on, which is part of the the vehicle's VIN code or fender tag or vehicle's Broadcast Sheet. For example F5 would be June of 1965 or similar. Its difficult to see the second character of the date code stamping.
