Not freaked out by them but don't like being face to face with them when they are this big. She wasn't there late yesterday afternoon either. Walked right by her as I passed by my beater Dakota and just as I was walking back towards the shop, I was head high even when I noticed her there. And yeah it freaked me out a bit because it took me by surprise. Just glad these things don't pounce!

Yep that's a big guy!

Bug control. I have a few around my desk but not big ones. It's fun to watch them hunt bugs. Still, i don't like it when one get's on me. If a big one is in the way i'll move it outside or to a corner. A useful part of the ecosystem.

I'll move them if I can capture them without a hassle but most times I make them move by messing up the web. Had one once that rebuilt 3 times and I guess he was starting to go hungry because he didn't built a 4th lol

Is that a Banana spider ?
They are starting to show up here in north Florida.
That's what we call them here too.....lots of yellow on it.

The best is when you walk into a Banana spiders web and they crawl on your face over your head and down your back as you run screaming and swatting !!!
Then 5 minutes later you look on your shoulder and there it is just staring at you

Holy **** Batman! That sombitch is big enough to drag you away in your sleep and have you for breakfast.

We get black widows, tarantulas and brown recluse in my neighborhood but nothing that big. Many moons ago I was working in the produce department of a local grocer when a tarantula size banana spider came out of a banana box and started crawling up my arm. I flung it off and it came down in a ladies purse a couple aisles away. Needless to say the ensuing chaos was pretty entertaining. In the end the spider did not survive the encounter.

I have been cutting up some hollow trees around my house, there are wolf spiders the size of Skoal cans
