Roller rockers

. I tried to find a link to Dove but got noting.. They may be gone..

I think dove is no more. I have a Friend that has 390 FE motor that has had problems with Dove too.

Dove was a bigger split-up family.... Once upon a time they managed to purchase tooling (casting) that was discarded from Frod to actually make new FE series components. I used to know some people that knew some people lol. I'll see what I can find out, just to know....

Seems like my Indy rockers are no longer available! My one exhaust pushrod broke apart at the cup and messed up the rocker. So it looks like I need a whole new set of rocker arms. What are some good choices for the money? I know of some of the high dollar rockers, but are there other choices that will work with my Mopar .557?
How is the geometry and contact pattern on the valve tip with the old rocker arms?
Can you post a picture of the contact pattern from one of the good cylinders that is still in tact?
Just wondering in case a correction kit from B3 Racing engines would help with geometry, but would likely require a whole knew set of pushrods, and it would be good to know before you get a replacement pushrod.

Everything was good when first assembled. I was at Bob George's a great engine builder of big Blocks south of Pittsburg, Pa. I have the rockers off the engine now on both sides, all looked good the last time I adjusted the valves about a year ago or 1 to 1500 miles ago.

I ran offset crane gold on my roller cam, no complaints, and currently running ductile iron on a .557 purple shaft solid, also no complaints. I dont know whose ductile rockers they are, crane, isky, or mopar. (Leaning to original mopar).
Unfortunately, neither set is available anywhere anymore.
I would probably go with a stainless rocker, depending on B3R recommendation.

Ductile type rockers are each pretty distinct....

Early (Real) Isky notice the hardened wear pad where the rocker contacts the valve stem.... Quality stuff..

Thanks Wild! I'm more sure of what they aren't, than what they are. They dont say crane on the bottom, or isky on the top. Now i can just look for a casting #. I think they are original maxie. Would max and 300 chrysler be the same number?

I believe so, not 100% on that, believe it or not all those parts are old & hard to come by....

Along those lines....
I was dealing with a transmission parts vendor today, trying to explain certain parts for a 65 cable shift are not the same as a 70 trans... "My Book shows they are the same & I sold you the right parts" Well your book sucks & it's wrong...

I needed some drum brake parts for my 62, i was told that napa would have em, or could get em .
Stopped into a napa on my way home, counter guy says we have nothing for anything that old in the computer.
Went to napa on line, found my part, went to my local napa (which happened to be a Big Truck specialist,) walked in with part # in hand, had the parts that afternoon.
Edit. My rockers have the screw slot adjusters, not the socket head type. Further convinced they are 60 year old mopar.

Im using Harland Sharp. I like them so far. No issues.

What about this set from Hughes Engines?
I believe they also produce some good stuff but have not heard many here that use their parts.

I'm currently using a set of their 1.6s on some Trick Flow heads. Very nice quality and the swipe pattern was only .045" with no correction so I'm running with it.. not the cheapest either but as was said waay back in post #2...not a good place to cut corners. I've used the Mancini/HS rockers with very good results also, those are the cheapest I'd use.

I have a set of those on my '915 headed 383 (strip car). The roller tip pin backed out of one and busted a couple minor items from the get-go..... turned out to be more of a scare than anything else, but i replaced all peripheral items.... Been golden ever since.

Are you sure yours are Comps? There's a knock off sold by Proform & PRW that looks allot like the Comps but the early version wasn't bushed & were prone to galling on the shafts... The newer version seems to be a decent part, lotta guys run them... I still prefer my old Isky Ductile Iron rockers but they've become collectors items so...

I dont think so.... Maxies are gonna offset further. I have both, I will have a look see.....

Dug out what I have.....they look the same..... That leaves me questioning what I know and what I have lol..... I'm gonna have to mock them up on some maxie heads and see whats possible and whats not. I do not have a set of 300J heads tho to try..... Those are true hens teeth, as far as I know (but they should be plain 440 sized intake ports).

As far as I'm aware neither head had offset pushrods...

Have a set of the early Iskys and several extras. I sold a set of new unopened ones last year or so....oh well. There's a guy on FABO with a set of new ones in the package for sale but they were a bit more than I was willing to pay.
