Nats at Columbus

Looking like the weather could possibly cooperate, a chance of rain Saturday but nice temperatures.

we are here smooth trip the whole way I will post more later

It came in buckets this aft right at the same time as the burn out contest

Shower and lightning this morning

Then typical hot humid sticky Nats

Then the cold front started working this aft

Spent practically the whole morning in the swap

These where just a few
Beautiful

my brother is there in the show side with his 1971 Duster . FC7 318 3spd car , a VERY nice car

I went today, got a grille from Bob. Walked around, took refuge under any vacant tent we came across, saw lots of cool cars, walked the swap but unfortunately, after the rain most of the vendors had covered up and left. So about 4 pm we decided to leave and head home. This was my first time back since 96. It's still huge. I was glad to see that. So many negative people had me thinking it would be a waste if time, but it definitely was not! I'm glad I went and hope I'll be there for the weekend next year with a cool Mopar of my own. Can't wait.

The Nats is what you make of it. It's August in Ohio...it'll be hot and humid. Crappy bathrooms. Crappy overpriced food. So bring your own, eat before and after the show. Swap meet prices high? Yeah, but keep walking and you'll find your price. I always have. Sorry I can't make it this year.

Yep, we left and drove down 2 exits and ate at Chipotle. Like you, I live in OH, so I knew what to expect. It was fun. Cool cars, lots of parts, great ideas, etc. Just really enjoyed. Hope you can make it next year.

I go every year, and it's never a waste of time. Right around January I start looking forward to it. I went yesterday, and as always, spent most of the day in the swap area and the car corral. I found my one remaining piece of trim for the back window; bumped into an old friend; and finally got to meet Richard from RPM - just as nice a guy as he always is on the phone.
I was a little disappointed that the guy who sells Penn Grade oil wasn't there this year. But overall... I love me some Natties!

I have spent two out of three days looking thru the swap meet. always a good time.

The swap meet was good to me, I've been searching for a 3rd gen Charger bumper but shipping is ridiculous so I thought.. what better place to look. I found one and the guy says, $30.. I'm sick of carrying it around lol. Found the buckets for $20 now I just need lenses.

and people say there are no god deals at The Nats. Glad you found what you needed.

I used to go every year when they were in Indy, then moved back to Columbus in 98. Haven't been back the past few years. How's Brice road & Heath in the evenings ?

And then there's the jackass's! I saw something I was interested in a guys swap area so I patiently waited as the guy in front of me asked for the price for a motor mount (just the steel part that bolts to the block), when he said $50 I just turned and walked away.

yup all too true. when I still had my '68 Charger, I was looking for the HP manifolds. This was 25+ years ago. They were over $200 everywhere. At the end of the day I spotted a set without a price, and asked the seller. He said $40. Same with the Pistol Grip I got a few years later, well over $275 at the time and snagged one for $150. Then there are the guys that bring the same over priced stuff year after year and can't figure out why their stuff doesn't sell.
