Iron Resurrection's just did a 1936 Hudson Terraplane truck. It was gorgeous...

The story continues....
The engine is a 1968 block 440. Nothing
fancy on the internals. It's got an older
TRW TP-238 cam. The trans is a 727 HP
with a shift kit. Torque converter has a 2500
stall. The headers (modeled on CAD) bent and
assembled by a friend that owns a header shop.

On to the sheet metal.
This is where my son has done almost all
of the work.
The front upper grille when I bought the parts
was trashed. My son cut out all of the louvers
and came up with a new design. (using old
patio furniture). We used a wooden jig to
curve the new inserts.

Keeping an eye out for another grille
in case this doesn't match the overall
aesthetics once shes painted.

The bed. Since we shortened the wheel base,
a standard bed wouldn't fit so we found an old
trash trailer for the bed sides, and used new
metal for the header and tailgate. The rear fenders
were shortened by 3", and the running boards
by 8".

Martin Brothers just hired a renowned fabricator who decided to move to Texas, his name is Chad and he worked at the RS Roadster Shop. He did all the fab on a 1965 Falcon coupe and he has MAD skills. Makes it look too easy....took a sheet of aluminum and hammered out a hood scoop. Thing looked like it was factory stamped. Perfect.
 
The bed and rear fenders after a little bodywork.
I hate bondo, so we kept its' use to a minimum.

The cab firewall.
He filled all the holes and cut the pocket to
clear the valve covers. Had no choice but to cover
up part of the engine.....but we did shove a
monster in there!

My son served 9 years in the Army with
three tours in Iraq. And was decorated
with a bronze star for his efforts.

Oh I’m already storing ideas! You guys have awesome skills. There aren’t many of these around so the uniqueness makes them even better yet!

Are you gonna run the headlights out on the fenders, in close to the nose or inset completely? I’m thinking I like them in closer to the nose. That’s how the 39 was. I’m not sure when they changed and moved out onto the fender top.

I love vehicles, any make, any model. Guess
that's why I chose my life-long vocation. I
started at an early age building go-carts and
mini-bikes.
For the headlights, I bought a set that has an
led signal in the lense. They'll be mounted
right on top of the fender with no stand.
This will cause them lean towards the grille
a little, tightening up the spacing.
I believe they moved the headlights to the
top of the fender in '41/'42.
 
That will look great. I was gonna custom mount mine as well. I was considering hanging them right off the nose itself.......but that’s a long way away!
