I can't believe no one has even mentioned the Mopar Nationals yet this weekend.

I’ve seen very few pics on other sites, turnout looked really low. Heard there were only two vendors on the midway, Laysons and AMD and vendors in the back field lower than normal. One report from Saturday was about 1/4 the field of cars from 2 years ago and low judged car turnout. I went from the first shows through 2014 then quit going as the golf cart issues continued to grow and poor management from the Nats staff continued to get worse and hasten the decline of the show. It’s a shame, great show at one time and I’m only three hours away. Been attending The Van Nuys shows in California instead and plan to attend MoParty in Bowling Green this year. Carlisle destroys the Nats now, may attend Garlits as well if the weekend works out.

2014 was the last year for me also. I had gone just about every year from the early 80's thru the mid 90's then quite racing for a while. Didn't go again until 2010 or so.... I was shocked how much it had shrunk compared to what it use to be.

Your info is way off base. Turnout was immense. EVERY parking lot was full and had cops posted at entrances to keep people from even trying to enter a lot. After completely driving all the way around NTR looking for a parking place, my buddy came up with an idea and we tricked a cop into thinking I was entered in the show ( was driving my decent looking '06 Magnum SRT8) and he let us in main lot, where I found ONE last parking spot ! Swap Meet was huge, grandstands almost packed for Duke boys, drag racing no good, though. AMD was NOT there. Stephens was offering AMD parts, though. They also added a bunch of temporary food vendors, thank God. Also all new grandstands on first section on pit side.

Glad to hear that. I was going on multiple reports from others and some pictures that appeared to have a lot of empty space I thought it may be Stephens selling AMD but wasnt sure based on reports

Yeah kind of strange, considering they were a partial sponsor to the event, I thought I saw down there.

I enjoyed going out there for the swap meet and show.
Always loved seeing the cars on the streets at night.
Unfortunately the race Always seems to be a ****- show. The staff there was a joke.
I haven't been there in a couple years however.
Hopefully they straighten the race part out but I don't have high hopes of that.

It would be great to see all the cars and friends. But as a racer when the additional outrageous charges are levied on racers, no thanks. Motor home or camper $50 extra. Enclosed trailer $25 extra. Pit vehicle, $50 extra. Payout is low. I never missed a Mopar Nats from 88 until 02.

Heck it wasn't until 2011 or 12 that they would even allow you to sleep over at the track if you were racing.
Belinda said before he didn't care if the racers showed up or not. All he was interested in was the show cars.
I don't know... I don't want to see the show go away, I just wish someone would take it over that really wanted to see it flourish again... Keeping in mind that it will neve be what it was 25 or 30 years ago, we lost too many people and cars for that matter.

The camper was an extra charge no extra fee for trailer if you were racing. Pit vehicle cost $15 and non racer trailer fee was $25. Tickets were $150 and came with a weekend pass for one pit crewman. Way better than Monster Mopar.

My only complaint is no one stopped the drunken jackass's from blocking exiting traffic so spectators could have impromptu burn out exhibitions. Ea night it took a good 20-30 minutes to get out of the track

Monster Mopar pays out $1500 2 separate days of racing. Same payout in every class. My buddy was charged the costs shown in my post above. He brought in a golf cart, enclosed race trailer, and motorhome. He was running N/SS this year.

Not sure how that happened and it shouldn't have. Sorry to hear that. We had a group of 6. All of us paid $150, no trailer fee and $15 for carts. Sounds like some misinformation at the gate.

There was 7 of us at Monster Mopar and this was probably our last yr for it.

Whoever sponsors the Nats must have actually paid for some track prep. My 60' was very consistent all weekend. That was even with all the off and on rain crazy up and down humidity. No issues with the track at all(other than the shut down being like a goat trail compared to Norwalk lol). And they went out of their way to get all time trials in.

One thing for sure vendor count was way down. A&A was there, Indy,Lawsons and a few others but definitely not like yrs past.

We had a blast Bob Frazee went very deep in Pro and S Pro until they started hot lapping the classes. Just got to the point where he couldn't get the car cool enough between rounds(actually called s pro when he was just staging for pro). Was a fun weekend. Sorry your friend got screwed. Like I said it shouldn't have happened.

Mopar Nationals was not "IMMENSE". Two things, first of all Friday is not the same as Saturday. Everybody so far seems to be posting pics about Saturday. Secondly, the actual show area has been greatly reduced. West side of track is no longer in play at all, swap area is reduced, fun field parking is reduced due to damn semi trucks/trailers, motorhomes, etc, now parking there, WHY IS THIS??? So, with all that you put a few thousand people in there on SATURDAY and it seems to be IMMENSE but it really isn't compared to years earlier. Just trying to provide some perspective.

Friday morning pics, about 10 or 10:30 am. Certainly wasn't packed or what I'd call immense. Well, maybe immensely empty?

I was only there Saturday, the parking area outside of the swap meet was nearly full by the time I got there.. seemed pretty busy to me? The biggest difference I noticed was the midway vendors, that used to have several vendors set up but this year it was a ghost town, swap meet was still pretty big from my perspective. It was a good show and unlike Carlisle.. there's RACIN!!
