Question for '64 wagon owners—what do the original keys look like?

Also which locks match each other (doors, ignition, tailgate, and glovebox)?

Thanks guys.

These are the originals for my 64 Fury 2 door. Star shape for ignition and doors. Round for trunk and glove comp.

Star key ignition, doors, and tailgate electric window. This is for a 64 fury station wagon. Round key is glove box. The spare tire optional lock might use the round key also. I have not run across one of those.

Thanks guys. It looks like there are 2 different styles of keys—one with raised eyelets and another with integrated eyelets. Is one more correct than the other for '64?

My picture above is of the two original keys that came with my 64 Fury when it was new. (Post #2) You can see the style of keys. The metal ring is the factory code number ring that was supposed to be destroyed by the original owner. We had a thread on this a few weeks ago, which is why I took and shared the picture.

I concur. Star key for the ignition, doors and rear window operation. Round key for glovebox.
Now that you have my attention, you should probably share a photo of your wagon as well.

64 Fury wagon got it from WY a year ago. It sat there for 30 35 years not driven. 318,push button,ps two seat. We have driven it about 900 miles this summer. It runs and drives very nice.

Let's see pictures of your 64 wagon. Have you had it a long time?

I have had people say the gray inside was not in many cars. I dont know. When I ordered the carpet ,I was told Chrysler never used gray carpet. The original carpet was in the car and was this gray color. Seats were reupholtered locally, a close color and pattern to original

I think '64 was the first year for the Penta star ignition key, and a couple years later came the key you have on the right. My '63 had an entirely different design I think going back to the late '50's. In my pic, the original keys for 63 are on the left; but they are a repro in steel...original keys were aluminum. They all fit the locks as I'm using the later gen penta star key most of the time in my ride. I know, lol, too much info...

Ron, I like your key chains. Where did you get them? I have two that I primarily use. One is like the Penstar/Fury you have pictured on the right and has the 90's/early 2000's Plymouth sailing ship emblem and the other is the simpler 60's two triangle emblem that would be found on the likes of the Dart.

Yes, I have owned it for a long time. I started driving it as a sophomore in High School in 1996 (though I didn't become the owner until 2000). Prior to that my Dad owned it and prior to that my Grandfather owned it.

I remember reading your interior rebuild. We thought working with your son was a good project together. My Daughter helped me restore her 67 Barracuda back in 1990 and she still has it. Jay

Beautiful wagon! I've had these fobs for a long time and pretty sure I bought them at some larger swap meets around here I go to annually. There are usually vendors there selling the 'good quality' keys having a lot of these fobs for sale. I'm planning to go to one in later Sept...if you're still looking for one, I can see if I can find one you want and send it to you.
